Sustainable Development Initiative (SDI) facilitated Intensive Community Based Planning (CBP) in Mutupo ward 9 to complete the CBP process that began three months back. The community was very excited to come up with their own plan for the period 2025 to 2030. Mutare Rdc issued a recommendation letter to SDI for facilitating CBP in the district.

Sustainable Development Initiative engaged with the community leadership of Ward 9 (Mutare Rural District) at Zumbare Primary School in Marange to facilitate the ward's Community-Based Planning (CBP). The meeting was influenced by the delimitation exercise before the 2023 elections, which saw the creation of the new ward; hence, the CBP needed to create a ward plan for this newly created ward. Community-based planning is a vital approach that empowers communities, particularly marginalized groups, to take charge of their development. By fostering inclusivity, responsiveness, and active participation, CBP not only enhances the quality of community plans but also ensures that resources are allocated in a manner that truly reflects the needs and priorities of the community. Embracing CBP can lead to sustainable development and improved quality of life for all community members.

Note: The process is still ongoing.
