Africa University has begun the new semester with a spirit of remembrance, gratitude, and celebration.

At our Dedication Service, we honored colleagues who have left lasting legacies, celebrated long-serving staff entering retirement, and welcomed students, faculty, and staff into a new season of learning and fellowship.

With inspiring words from Rev. Jairus Mafondokoto Assistant to the Bishop for the Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, and Botswana Episcopal Area , and the AU choir lifting hearts in song, the service set a hopeful tone for the semester ahead.

Cimas and ZB Bank Partner with Africa University to Bridge the Digital Divide for Students

Higher education today goes beyond lecture halls and textbooks, it requires access to digital tools that enable research, collaboration, and innovation. Recognizing this, Cimas Health Group and ZB Financial Holdings have partnered with Africa University to provide laptops to 2 students in need, ensuring they have the resources to thrive academically.

During the handover ceremony, Vice Chancellor Reverend Professor Peter Mageto captured the spirit of the moment appreciating that both partners answered the call when it was made and opened their doors. He went on to emphasize that the donation is not simply a laptop but a life changed where each student will have a testimony to tell. His words reflect the transformative power of digital access in unlocking student potential.

Representatives from Cimas and ZB Bank emphasized their commitment to breaking barriers and investing in human capital with Africa University Bursar Mrs. Tsungai Maravi expressing gratitude for partners that respond when called upon and who continuously ask what more they can do to uplift and touch the lives of students. Their contributions show that when corporate citizenship aligns with educational equity, it validates the dreams of young Africans striving for excellence.

We believe talent is equally distributed across the continent, but opportunity is not. Partnerships like these help close that gap, empowering students to achieve and lead in a global economy.

A Powerful New Chapter Begins At The Valley of Hope!

On August 14, 2026, Africa University officially welcomed 760 new scholars during a vibrant matriculation ceremony at the Kwang Lim Chapel. Reflecting our true Pan-African spirit, the Class of 2026 brings together students from 24 African nations including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Eswatini, Madagascar, and our host nation Zimbabwe. Notably, 59% of this incoming class are female leaders (449 female students), marking a proud moment for gender diversity in higher education!

In his keynote address, Vice Chancellor Rev. Prof. Peter Mageto challenged the cohort to navigate their journey with three core questions: WHY are you here, WHO are you becoming, and HOW are you managing your time? Freshman Miss Hannah Rajah echoed this call, asking her peers: "What problem am I here to solve? What legacy am I here to build?"

Africa University invites you to the 196th TB ECHO Programme

Africa University continues to provide technical support for the TB ECHO Programme, established through USAID/JSI funding (2020–2025). Since inception, the TB ECHO has hosted 195 sessions, strengthening knowledge-sharing and capacity-building in TB care. Building on this success, the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) launched the Family Health ECHO Programme in November 2025, which has already held 17 sessions.
