Through the Early Intervention, Advocacy and Community Impact Project, Nzeve continues to strengthen early intervention support for Deaf children and their families through its play centres for children with disabilities.

At the play centre established at Chiduku Clinic in Makoni, another group of Deaf children and their parents is being introduced to Sign Language, helping them build a shared language for communication and learning at home.

Early access to language is key to children's development, participation and inclusion.

Every girl deserves the chance to learn, grow and choose her future. 💙
This International Day of the Girl Child, we join the call to end child marriage and invest in girls’ rights.

Every girl has the right to education, safety, health and the opportunity to shape her own future. Yet child marriage and other harmful practices continue to deny many girls these rights, limiting their opportunities and exposing them to risks of violence and poor health.

Girls with disabilities must also be included in these efforts. They deserve equal access to education, information, protection and opportunities to participate in decisions that affect their lives.

At Nzeve, we believe that every girl deserves to be heard, protected and supported to reach her full potential. Protecting girls’ rights requires families, communities and institutions to challenge harmful practices and create environments where every girl can thrive.

Let’s protect girls’ childhoods, uphold their rights and invest in their futures.

Nzeve recently held a Deaf Awareness and Sign Language session with staff at Chipinge District Hospital.

Held at the invitation of the Hospital Administration, the session focused on helping staff learn how to communicate and engage with Deaf clients accessing health services.

A positive step towards more inclusive and accessible healthcare. 🙌🏽

What a day in Chipinge! The town was buzzing with energy, smiles and support for Deaf people’s rights and inclusion.

Under the theme “Declaring Deaf People’s Human Rights,” we celebrated Deaf identity, raised awareness and brought people together to stand for inclusion and equal rights.
