First day of CCJP Masvingo, through Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs capacitation of CSOs and duty bearers on legal frameworks which protect people on the move end on a high note. The activity is one of the series of activities under Supporting vulnerable people on the move and their communities in Zimbabwe and South Africa. Different Beitbridge stakeholders were in attendance from government departments, CSOs, as well as media outlets. A migrant participant highlights the impact of the “Supporting Vulnerable People on the Move and Their Communities in Zimbabwe and South Africa” project, implemented by CCJP Masvingo in partnership with the American Friends Service Committee. Some of the project activities emphasize the importance of proper documentation when traveling. As Hosea 4:6 states, “My people are perishing because of a lack of knowledge.” How many others, like her, leave without proper travel documents and risk illegal crossing points into South Africa? CCJP Masvingo, under the project Supporting vulnerable people on the move and their communities in Zimbabwe and South Africa, conducted an Issue-based dialogue at St Joseph parish, Beitbridge urban, with district stakeholders, including government ministries and departments such as the District Development Coordinator (DDC) and Ministry of Local Development and Public Works, the Department of Social Development (DSD)on 26/02/26. The overall outcome was improved engagement with decision makers on issues that affect people on the move and their communities.
