LHEDF, as part of the Women’s Coalition of Zimbabwe, participated today in the High-Level Consultative Dialogue on Access to Justice for Survivors of Technology-Facilitated GBV.

As we commemorate the 16 Days of Activism Against GBV, we underscore the urgent need to raise awareness, strengthen advocacy, and prevent technology-facilitated violence.

This dialogue has enhanced our capacity to act as first responders to Tech-facilitated GBV, ensuring we are better equipped to support and protect women and girls.

This World AIDS Day, LHEDF is joining the nation to celebrate the 2025 theme “Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response,” a rallying cry that urges bold leadership, community‑driven action and a human‑rights‑centered approach to keep the world on track for ending AIDS by 2030 in Zimbabwe the campaign is being framed locally as “Take the Right Path: My Health, My Rights, Our Responsibility,” underscoring the duty of every citizen to protect their health and support those living with HIV . By lighting candles, sharing stories and showcasing our prevention and care programmes, we’re not just remembering the lives we’ve lost,we’re rising together, leading the charge toward a future where HIV is no longer a public‑health threat.

This year the global campaign adopts the powerful theme “UNITE to End Digital Violence Against Women and Girls.” LIFE HEALTH EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION reaffirms its unwavering commitment to ending all forms of violence and aligns fully with this call to action.

We recognise that online harassment, image‑based abuse and technology‑facilitated exploitation are just as damaging as physical violence. In solidarity with survivors, activists, and partners across Zimbabwe and around the world, we commit to:

- Raising awareness that digital spaces can become battlegrounds for abuse, and that safety online is a fundamental right.
- Providing safe, confidential support for those experiencing technology‑facilitated gender‑based violence, linking them to counselling, legal aid and health services.
- Mobilising our network of community health workers, youth leaders and educators to champion digital respect and challenge the norms that allow online harassment to thrive.

The fight against gender‑based violence is a collective one. By uniting across homes, schools, workplaces and the digital world, we can create an environment where every woman and girl feels safe, valued and empowered both offline and online. With CommCare's robust features, we will streamline data analysis, improve decision-making, and enhance program implementation. The LIFE HEALTH EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (LHEDFT) attended a program in Gweru for disseminating the Community HIV Treatment Literacy Manual, where they were capacitated on various topics including HIV basics, ARVs, prevention, treatment adherence, TB, and elimination of mother-to-child transmission (eMTCT), with a focus on People living with HIV, vulnerable groups and key populations. A rollout and cascade plan was developed to further disseminate the knowledge to community groups. LHEDFT appreciates the Ministry of Health and Child Care, NAC, and ZNNP+ for the opportunity to be part of the capacitated community-based organizations.

The LIFE HEALTH EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION is currently attending a review meeting in Kadoma, where we are reflecting on 2024's key successes and challenges while outlining plans for 2025. A significant focus of the meeting is capacitating Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) on data collection tools, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plans, and strengthening Management Information Systems (MIS). With support from ZNNP+, we are capacitated to develop and implement effective data collection tools, M&E plans, and MIS, enabling us to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions. Emphasis on documentation and storytelling, recognizing the power of narratives to capture our programs' impact and inspire others. We are grateful for the support of our partners, including ZNNP+, the Ministry of Health and Child Care, and the National AIDS Council, as well as the community we serve. Through social contracting grants, ZNNP+ is enabling us to implement critical programs that are making a meaningful difference in the lives of our beneficiaries. With renewed purpose and commitment, we are confident that our collective efforts will yield greater impact in the years to come, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration with our partners and the community in 2025.
