Save the Soul Foundation Trust holds a successful Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign.

It was all laughter, singing, dancing and fun in Zhombe as Save the Soul Foundation Trust, a non-profit charity organization held a very successful Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign on Thursday the 23rd March 2023. The organization which is known for its charitable works which include providing Sanitary ware to the girl child, Providing stationery to underprivileged children, Providing food and clothing to the old aged just to mention but a few positively responded to the call by His Excellence the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Dr ED Mnangagwa to fight Drug Abuse in every part of the nation. The first phase of the Campaign targeted secondary schools such as Rujeko Somalala and Fafi and some business centers such as Zhombe Joel.
In his address at Somalala secondary and Fafi secondary schools respectively, Mr Antony Mabhunu who is the Director and founder of the organization urged scholars to abstain from any kind of drug abuse. He highlighted that there are no benefits in using drugs, but intead drugs assist in the destruction the future, cause illnesses and above all tarnishes e image of the nation.
`Hapana chamumunowana mukushandisa zvinodhaka vanangu kunze kwekuzviparadzira hupenyu hwenyu' he said with a very strong voice. He urged young boys and girls to stay away from any kind of drugs. 'You shouldn't be found anywhere near drugs unless if you want to destroy your own future, the future of your own family and the nation at large' he said
Mr Mabhunu went on to inform scholars about some serious negative effects of drugs which include heart disease, lung disease, liver disease, weight loss, brain damage, psychosis, suicidal, seizures, stroke, etc. He urged scholars to desist from dining with bad friends, responding to peer pressure and taking drugs as a way of solving problems.
