Period Poverty Pad Drive Campaign

I'm excited to share that we're partnering with the office of Hon. Gift Mambipiri, MP of Kadoma, to launch a period poverty pad drive campaign!

In Zimbabwe, an estimated 72% of girls cannot afford sanitary products (UNICEF). This has severe consequences, including absenteeism from school, health risks, and stigma.

Our goal is to provide sanitary pads to those in need, promoting dignity, education, and empowerment. We believe that everyone deserves access to essential hygiene products, regardless of their socio-economic background.

Here are some shocking statistics:

- 1 in 10 girls in Zimbabwe miss school due to menstruation-related issues (UNESCO).
- 70% of girls in rural areas use unhygienic materials, such as leaves, grass, or newspaper, during their periods (Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency).

Let's join forces to make a difference! We're calling on individuals, organizations, and businesses to donate sanitary pads or funds to support this initiative.

Together, we can help break the cycle of period poverty and create a more equitable society for all.

"The world is changed by our example and not our opinions"

Yesterday was a milestone day! I'm thrilled to announce the official launch of the Young Observer Program at Kadoma City House, in collaboration with the Junior Council. This initiative, supported by Accountability Lab Zimbabwe, aims to empower young leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to drive positive change in their communities.

After months of planning since 2022, it's fantastic to see this program come to life. I'm grateful for the unwavering support from our partners and stakeholders Zibusiso John Dube Samuel Takawira McDonald Lewanika and The Mayor for giving us his office who share our vision of fostering accountable leadership among the youth.

The Young Observer Program represents a significant step towards shaping the next generation of leaders, equipping them to tackle challenges and create opportunities for growth and development in Kadoma City.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this program a reality. I look forward to witnessing the impact and success of our young leaders! 🌞❀️🌳

Today we as Bringing Joy. Love. Life. A registered youth association in Zimbabwe had a fruitful engagement at Kadoma Vocational Training Centre with the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training.

We submitted our needs as young people in Kadoma with a list of things we believe that young people need in the Second Republic of Zimbabwe.

The Perm Sec in return stressed the need for youth associations to have structures and focus on using the resources that exist in farming in order to help grow the economy and empower Zimbabwe for Zimbabweans.

It was a well needed session and we are greatful for his time and wise words which were essential in empowering young people as well as ways in which young people can empower themselves. πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡Ό

Our Executive Director attended the Activists Membership Circle where he was capacitated on Human Rights Trainings as well as ways to be a better leader in his community.

It was a great opportunity to network, learn and grow the organization to new heights. We are greatful for the partnership and opportunity to get new insights and information on the importance of human rights in Zimbabwe. πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡Ό
