179 tins. 38 tiny lives. One room full of people who chose to show up.
This March, the Rotary Club of Borrowdale Brooke delivered 179 tins of baby formula to the preterm babies unit at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, after nurses came to the club and shared the daily realities of caring for premature infants whose mothers are too ill, or too exhausted, or in the most heartbreaking cases, no longer there.
The nurses asked. The club listened. And then they acted.
Did you know Parirenyatwa's neonatal unit is also home to Africa's first Immediate Kangaroo Care programme, using skin-to-skin contact to help premature babies grow through synchronised heartbeats? The work happening in that ward is extraordinary. It deserved to be seen.
This was just the first visit. It won't be the last. 💙
