In remote areas of Umguza, Umzingwane, Chimanimani, and Kwekwe, access to life-saving support for survivors of violence is often blocked by long distances, transport costs, and stigma. But with support from the We Are One Fund through SIVIO Institute, ZACH is changing that.

Our Mobile One Stop Centre outreaches and follow-up home visits are bringing:
✅ Integrated GBV care
✅ HIV prevention and testing
✅ Psychosocial support
✅ Legal assistance
✅ Structured survivor follow-up

Between June and July 2026, 199 survivors received care through our Mobile One Stop Centre outreaches and home visits.

One survivor’s journey: - after receiving initial support, a follow-up visit revealed legal delays and housing struggles. With help from partners, she now has a new protection order and a path to safety.

This is what survivor-centred, community-driven care looks like.

Every safe community starts with a single conversation.

ZACH, working with National AIDS Council of Zimbabwe , the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development, the Zimbabwe Gender Commission, and Victim Friendly Unit, with support from the The Global Fund through United Nations Development Programme - UNDP Zimbabwe, is taking SASA! dialogues straight to the people, linked to One Stop Centre outreach forums right in our communities.

These conversations are in the Action Phase: turning awareness into real change so that violence against women and girls is never accepted, never normalized, never ignored. We are also supporting the safe reintegration of returnees from South Africa, because preventing violence against women and girls means protecting people at every stage of their journey home.

When SASA! Champions, community leaders, and stakeholders unite, something powerful happens, collective action for long-term change. Safer communities are not just about protection. They reduce vulnerability, strengthen HIV prevention, and increase uptake of the support services that save lives.

We are passing the torch of championing to the next generation. Will you carry it with us?

Scabies Outbreak Alert

Harare City health authorities have confirmed a scabies outbreak in Hopley, Southlea Park and Stoneridge, with over 70 cases reported.

Scabies is highly contagious, but it is treatable.

Early treatment and simple hygiene practices can stop its spread.

Know the signs:
✔️ Intense itching (especially at night)
✔️ Rash or small bumps on the hands, wrists, fingers, armpits, waist, and skin folds

Protect your family:
▶️ Seek treatment immediately at your nearest clinic if you have symptoms.
▶️ Wash clothes, blankets, towels and bedding in hot water.
▶️ If one person is infected, everyone in the household should be treated at the same time.
▶️ Avoid sharing clothing, towels and bedding.
Overcrowded living conditions make diseases spread faster, but together we can help stop transmission through early reporting, treatment and good hygiene.

Let us protect our communities. Early action saves discomfort and prevents further spread.

Good morning, family!

Oftentimes, we quote Hosea 4:6; "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge", but let us look at this through a lens of love, not fear.

God is the ultimate Healer, but He also gives wisdom to doctors, nurses, and clinicians. Using that wisdom is not a lack of faith; it is a demonstration of it!

If you have been avoiding the clinic because you think ‘God will handle it,’ remember that God often handles things through people. He gives us medicine to heal, vaccines to protect, and knowledge to prevent suffering.

By taking care of your physical health, you are ensuring you have the strength to take care of your family, serve your church, and live out your purpose. Don’t let the ‘lack of knowledge’ or fear of conflicting with your faith keep you from the gift of good health.

Visit your nearest ZACH health facility today. We are here to serve you with compassion and excellence!

22 women are r***d daily in Zimbabwe, one every 75 minutes (Zimbabwe Gender Commission). Adolescent girls and young women bear the brunt of new HIV infections.

The stories we tell can save lives,or end them. Journalists hold the power to change this.

In the past week, ZACH, in collaboration with National AIDS Council of Zimbabwe and with support from the The Global Fund through United Nations Development Programme - UNDP Zimbabwe, empowered journalists from across SASA! implementation districts to attend a transformative Media Sensitization Workshop on Violence Against Women (VAW) and HIV in Gweru.

The workshop encouraged media practitioners to go beyond just headlines, advocating for ethical, sensitive reporting that safeguards survivors, challenges harmful stereotypes, and elevate the voices of adolescent girls and young women (AGYW).

By providing journalists with the SASA! Approach, we enhance the media’s capacity to prevent violence, lower HIV risk, and promote positive social change.

Every story matters. Every voice counts.

The story is not just about what happened. It is about what will happen next.

Together, we can change the narrative.

Living with HIV? Treatment Works!

Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) allows people living with HIV to live long, healthy, and productive lives. When taken consistently, ART reduces the amount of HIV in the body to undetectable levels.

If you have stopped taking your medication, missed appointments, or feel discouraged, it is never too late to restart treatment. Health workers are ready to support you without judgment.

The benefits of ART include:
▪️Stronger immune system
▪️Better health and quality of life
▪️Protection against opportunistic infections
▪️Reduced risk of HIV transmission
▪️Increased life expectancy

Your treatment is your strength. Your health matters. Return to care today and take control of your future!
