Happy Mother’s Day to all of our awesome moms who support GSEF! A special Happy Mother’s Day to the women who provide a mothering figure in the lives of the students we support. Sometimes it’s a mother; sometimes an aunt, a sister, a grandmother, a neighbor, or a teacher. We met a lot of teachers in Kenya and Zimbabwe who love their students as mothers. We are grateful to all of you for making a difference in the lives of the children you love.

UPDATE: You are fast! Within a few minutes, we had enough money to fully fund the uniforms! Thank you so much! Feel free to continue to give--everything we raise goes to school fees (which may include uniforms) for our children, and it is always appreciated. Check out our monthly donor options too!

We are soooo close to fully funding the uniforms for the five kids in Kisii! Thank you to all of you who have sent in a gift. I know these kids are thrilled to have such a large village to support them! There is still time to help--see the comments for how to give. Thanks!

Uniforms are an important part of education in many parts of the world. Uniforms put kids on an even field--there's no challenge to look better, no worry about not having shoes or boots, no distinguishing between rich and poor. We have five students in Kisii who don't have uniforms. Can you help us get new uniforms to them before they come back to school at the end of April? Thanks!

UNIFORMS!!! Richard, our contact in Kisii, Kenya, discovered on Easter that five of our students do not have uniforms for school. He had been able to leverage community support for most of our 34 students, but we missed five. We need to raise $650 in the next few days to make sure that our students have uniforms. Uniform sets include a shirt, pants/skirt, shoes, boots, blazer, and sweater. Without them, they stand out to their peers as poor kids instead of students. School resumes in a couple of weeks, so we have until April 20 to raise the funds and make sure these kids go to school with their uniforms. Make a gift at www.GlobalSEF.org. One of our great supporters asked today if we are set up for her to share for her birthday as a fundraiser. The answer is yes, and we are grateful to those who do! We had our first Facebook birthday event in February and received a check that will send a child to school next year. When I turned 50, I challenged friends to give through my church. Please consider helping a student go to school for your upcoming birthday!
