Today, YMCA Harare in partnership with Shamwari Yemwanasikana, conducted a Girls Dandaro session in Glen Norah. Participants were divided into two age groups, the younger girls and the young adult group. This ensured age appropriate discussions. The sessions focused on values, responsible social media use, healthy dating, and personal aspirations, providing a safe space for participants to share experiences, build confidence, and develop positive life skills that support informed decision-making and personal growth.

Zimbabwe YMCA joined fellow education stakeholders in reflecting on the importance of investing in education as a foundation for national development and youth empowerment. The meeting was on the discussion of Education Financing Trust Fund Bill. The Education Financing Trust Fund Bill seeks to establish a sustainable framework for mobilizing resources to invest in education infrastructure, reduce vulnerabilities, and support quality basic education.

As an organization committed to the holistic development of young people, we believe education is more than classroom learning, it is a pathway to dignity, opportunity, and active citizenship. We therefore continue to advocate for inclusive, equitable, and quality education that equips learners with the knowledge, values, and skills they need to thrive in a changing world.

Our view is that sustainable education financing, strong partnerships, and community participation are essential to building resilient education systems that leave no child behind. Zimbabwe YMCA remains committed to working with partners to promote policies and initiatives that protect the right to education and create safe, supportive learning environments for all.
