Tafadzwa Mandiwanza has made history as Ireland’s first female pediatric neurosurgeon, shattering barriers in a field long dominated by men—all while raising three children. Originally from Zimbabwe, she dreamed of becoming a doctor since the age of 3 and relentlessly pursued that goal through years of intense training, overcoming bias, and balancing motherhood with the demands of medicine.

Now serving at Temple Street Children’s University Hospital, Dr. Mandiwanza is one of only four pediatric neurosurgeons in all of Ireland. Her trailblazing journey not only saves young lives but also empowers a new generation of women in medicine to believe that no dream is too big. 👩🏽‍⚕️🧠✨

My name is Thandolwenkosi Tshuma, and I am the first Black female bicycle traveler in all of Africa. I'm here to inspire women who doubt themselves. As *mbokodos*, we have the strength to do anything we set our minds to.

When I first started cycling, I was called many hurtful names—ugly, a granny, HIV-positive. I was told I would die. But here I am, still standing strong and unshakable. Nothing can break me.
