Meet Gladys Chibanda

Gladys Chibanda is a Digital Governance Advocate, Entrepreneur, and Cultural Heritage Champion working at the intersection of technology, culture, and community empowerment across Africa.

As Vice President of the Internet Society Zimbabwe Chapter, she champions digital equity, cybersecurity awareness, and internet governance—leading transformative initiatives including the EmpowerZim Women Project, Her Digital Circle, and Zimbabwe’s Global Encryption Coalition. Her work is grounded in a clear conviction: access, inclusion, and digital representation are rights, not privileges.

She is the founder of The Digital Society Lab, an Afro-modernist intellectual platform exploring the relationship between culture, code, and Africa’s digital future, as well as Krafted Ink Packaging & Design Studio—demonstrating that African creativity and technology belong on the global stage.

She is also the visionary behind the Her Digital Edge Indaba, a flagship initiative aimed at equipping Zimbabwean women with the tools, knowledge, and networks to lead in the digital transformation era. The conference brings together women from technology, business, policy, and innovation to explore opportunities and tackle challenges shaping the digital landscape.

Gladys is recognized as one of MIPAD’s Top 100 Most Influential Persons of African Descent (2024), a Forbes BLK Member (2025), an AWIEF 2023 Finalist, a UNDP Youth Connect Award recipient, a Tony Elumelu Foundation Alumna, and among Zimbabwe’s 30 Under 30.

She is not just shaping conversations—she is shaping the future of Africa’s digital ecosystem.

Data is not just numbers. In the right hands, it is transformation. 📊🌍

We are proud to introduce Gcinithemba Sherilyn Maphosa — panellist, data scientist, and one of Zimbabwe’s most exciting voices at the intersection of ICT and Africa’s economic future.
Gcinithemba is a Data Scientist and Data Operations Specialist currently based at Kendago, and the Founder of DataWired a consultancy and training company equipping professionals and organisations across Africa with data-driven skills for strategic decision-making. She also serves on the board of Elevate Trust, contributing to STEM innovation and youth empowerment.

And in 2026, she was awarded the Icon of Africa’s Economic Advancement & Sustainable Development under ICT — Zimbabwe at the Iconic Africa Summit & Honors. 🏆 A recognition that reflects not just what she has built, but what she represents for an entire generation of African women in data and technology.

Gcinithemba is passionate about advancing ICT adoption and digital skills development across Africa — and about ensuring that African voices are heard and centred in global data and technology ecosystems.

On 23 April she joins our panel to speak about what it means to be a young African woman building with data, leading with purpose, and shaping the continent’s digital economy from the inside. 💜

When the ITU calls your work world-class, you listen. 🌍✨
We are proud to introduce Anoziva Ishe Marindire as one of our panellists for Girls in ICT Day 2026.
Anoziva is a strategic communications specialist, project manager, and passionate advocate for digital inclusion. She is the Founder and Director of The Usawa Institute — a non-profit organisation advancing girls’ and women’s education and leadership across Africa.
In 2025, The Usawa Institute was awarded the prestigious World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prize by the International Telecommunication Union — in recognition of its impact in equipping young women in Zimbabwe’s underserved communities with coding, digital advocacy, and media skills. This is a global award. And it belongs to Zimbabwe. 🏆🇿🇼
Anoziva also led the design and implementation of the campaign for the African Union’s International Centre for Girls’ and Women’s Education in Africa (AU/CIEFFA) — a continental initiative that mobilised action across member states to support girls’ education in the aftermath of COVID-19 school closures.
A Mandela Washington Fellow and recipient of the Honoris United Universities Women in Africa (WIA) Scholarship, Anoziva brings strategic communication, storytelling, and community organising to every space she enters.
She currently serves as Zimbabwe National Coordinator of the African Union CIEFFA Zimbabwe Alumni Committee — continuing to build the bridge between grassroots girl-centred work and continental policy.
On 23 April she joins our panel to speak about what digital inclusion really looks like on the ground — and what it will take to ensure no girl is left behind in the age of AI. 💜

She took the unconventional path. And look where it led. 🇬🇧🇿🇼✨

Meet our Keynote Speaker — Yemurai Rabvukwa.

Yemurai is a British-Zimbabwean Senior Cybersecurity Associate, Keynote Speaker, and Careers Strategist based in the United Kingdom. She holds a First-Class degree in Chemistry from the University of Liverpool — and turned what many would call an unlikely background into one of the most compelling careers in UK cybersecurity today.

She is the creator of STEM Babe, one of the most influential tech and careers platforms for young women of African descent, with a community of over 76,000 followers. Her content — honest, practical, and unapologetically real — has helped thousands of young women navigate imposter syndrome, break into tech, and own their path.

Yemurai is a proud TechWomen100 awardee. She has collaborated with the Civil Service, interviewed the VP of Environmental Policy and Social Initiatives at Apple, hosted the Cloud and Cyber Expo in London, and spoken at the Google Developers Group X UCL “Redefine Possible” International Women’s Day event.

She is proof that there is no single road into tech. And on 23 April, she is bringing that message to Zimbabwe. 🇿🇼

We are honoured, we are excited, and honestly — we are a little starstruck. 🙌🏾
Come hear her live.
