Today, Hon T. Machakaire, the Minister for Youth Empowerment Development and Vocational Training and ZANU PF Secretary for Youth Affairs, officially launched the Youth Economic Empowerment Fund, an initiative aimed at empowering young people through sustainable economic opportunities.
The USD 1 million revolving fund, to be administered through EmpowerBank, will benefit youths across all ten provinces, promoting entrepreneurship, job creation, accountability and inclusive national development in line with Vision 2030. Government has set its sights on growing the fund to USD 5 million to expand its reach and impact.
The Minister expressed gratitude to His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, for his continued commitment to youth empowerment and economic inclusion.
This fund follows a resolution adopted at the 22nd ZANU PF National People’s Conference in Mutare, where the Youth League requested USD 10 million. The USD 1 million launched today represents the first tranche of that commitment.
