Our Story

The GloRun Zimbabwe is a non-profit charity event aimed at raising awareness and funds for various organizations and causes in and around Zimbabwe. The event was founded by two young adults, Pearson Chareka and Tinashe Ashleigh Nduku who are both passionate about event conceptualisation and management and decided to use their skills to better the lives of others around them.

In 2016, The GloRun launched its first run at Borrowdale race course. At the time it was working alongside Magis Zimbabwe and Assumption of our Lady Catholic Church, Rhodesville, to help raise funds for its pilgrims who were going to the World Youth Day in Poland. The event attracted just over 700 people in its first year and The GloRun Team decided to do it again.

2017 saw the 2nd edition of The GloRun at The Country Club, Newlands. The team continued to work jointly with Assumption of our Lady Catholic church to help with the construction of their new church and raise funds and awareness for Kidzcan Zimbabwe. In 2017 The GloRun Zimbabwe introduced for the first time, Brand Ambassadors for the event. These young individuals dedicated their time, resources and talent to promote both the event and it beneficiaries. They did a remarkable job and managed to secure an even bigger crowd than 2016.

In the past two years, The GloRun Zimbabwe has worked with and been sponsored by various companies. Notably, Rooneys Zimbabwe, Astra Paints, The Turf Club, Zifm, DStv Zimbabwe, Webtickets, The Country Club Newlands, Umax and Lyf Style Dance Studios.
