Good nutrition lays the foundation for better learning.

During Term 2, 24.5 metric tonnes of Corn Soya Blend (CSB) were distributed to 152 JF Kapnek-supported schools across Mhondoro-Ngezi, Zvimba, and Chegutu, benefiting approximately 13,000 ECD learners. The supplementary school feeding programme improves nutrition, increases school attendance, enhances concentration, and helps children thrive in the classroom.

This initiative is made possible through the generous support of Herz HD Stiftung, in partnership with Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education.

Access to clean, reliable water is transforming Early Childhood Development centres into thriving learning environments.

Through the drilling of boreholes at Chipashu, Murambwa, Gasanyama, Nehanda, Chikowore and Nyamashesha Primary Schools, JF Kapnek Zimbabwe is supporting schools to establish sustainable nutritional gardens that will provide fresh, nutritious produce for ECD learners. This initiative strengthens the implementation of the Government of Zimbabwe's School Feeding Policy by promoting locally grown, healthy food while improving water access for schools and surrounding communities.

By investing in water, we are investing in better nutrition, improved learning outcomes, healthier children, and more resilient communities.

📢 Championing Inclusive SGBV Prevention & Response!

This week, JF Kapnek Zimbabwe convened Disability Ambassadors and CBR Facilitators from 6 districts for a powerful training on the meaningful inclusion of youth with disabilities in SGBV prevention and response programming.
Through our Adolescent and Youth Disability Ambassador Model, we're ensuring that young people with disabilities are not just beneficiaries — but active voices, advocates, and change-makers in protecting their peers and communities from gender-based violence.

Key action points coming out of the training:
✅ CBR Facilitators will establish Disability Ambassador Groups in their respective districts
✅ These groups will champion the creation of Inclusive Youth-Friendly Hubs — safe, accessible spaces for young people with disabilities to access information, support, and referral services
✅ Ambassadors will lead peer-to-peer awareness on SGBV prevention within their communities
✅ Strengthened linkages between CBR structures and district-level SGBV referral pathways
Because inclusion isn't an afterthought. It's the foundation. 💪

Engagement of a WASH Technical Expert for Borehole Drilling and Water Supply Activities

JF Kapnek Zimbabwe implements WASH and borehole drilling activities across its programme districts. These activities require specialised technical oversight to ensure that borehole siting, drilling, testing, installation and reticulation are conducted to appropriate technical standards and provide safe, reliable and sustainable water supply for communities served by the organisation.

The organisation has identified a need for dedicated WASH technical expertise because oversight of borehole siting, drilling supervision and quality assurance cannot be adequately performed by non-specialist administrative and programme staff alone. Without independent technical input, the organisation has limited
capacity to assess contractor siting methodology, drilling depth, casing specifications, water yield, water quality, installation quality and adherence to agreed technical standards.

Yesterday's training session in Kadoma focused on strengthening accessibility and inclusivity in Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) services. Through enhanced coordination and targeted action, we are creating clear pathways to justice, protection and recovery for persons with disabilities.

Together, we are building a barrier-free response system where every voice is heard, valued and protected.
