At Bless The Child Zimbabwe, we believe in building inclusive communities through cultural engagement, using child-friendly approaches like singing and the arts.
We are committed to empowering underprivileged children in Epworth’s Wards 1 and 2 (Chiremba) by creating opportunities for them to interact with and learn from other cultures—such as the vibrant and generous Indian Women’s Association.
Many of our child beneficiaries in Epworth lack exposure and access to diverse cultural experiences. In the words of Ms. Lauryn Hill “In my travels all over the world, I have come to realize that what distinguishes one child from another is not ability, but access—access to education, access to opportunity, access to love.”
Through this partnership, we aim to provide that access—to connection, cultural exchange, and positive stimulation—to help our children grow socially and cognitively.
We are deeply grateful to the Indian Women’s Association for opening their hearts and making themselves accessible to our children.
This initiative also responds to findings published in the RSIS International Journal of Research and Innovation in Social Science (IJRISS), Volume VI, Issue IV (April 2022), which highlighted how parental neglect and social hardship have forced some children in Epworth to perform in dance groups in beer halls, increasing their vulnerability.
Together, we’re working toward safer, more inclusive spaces for every child—where they are seen, supported, and celebrated.
