Abuse Is Not Always Physical

Many people think abuse only means hitting or physical violence. But abuse can take many forms, and some of the most damaging types leave no visible scars.

Common types of abuse in relationships include:

• Emotional abuse – constant criticism, humiliation, manipulation
• Psychological abuse – intimidation, threats, controlling behavior
• Financial abuse – controlling money or limiting someone’s independence
• Social isolation – cutting someone off from friends and family
• Physical abuse – any form of physical harm

ABUSE HAS NO GENDER !!!! FACT

When people talk about abuse in relationships, the focus is often on women. But the truth is, men can be victims too.

Many men stay silent because of shame, fear of not being believed, or the pressure from society that tells them they must always be “strong.” Because of this, thousands suffer in silence.
Abuse is abuse — no matter who the victim is.

Men deserve to be heard.
Men deserve support.
And men should never feel ashamed to speak up.

Silence protects abusers.
Speaking up protects victims.
