Poverty Reduction Forum Trust (PRFT) joins the rest of the world in commemorating International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, under this year’s theme "Ending Social and Institutional Maltreatment: Acting together for Just, Peaceful and Inclusive Societies". As we celebrate let us take time to reflect on the milestones reached and the ones ahead of us as we aim to end poverty in all its forms by 2030.

This theme highlights the importance of addressing the systemic issues that contribute to poverty and the maltreatment of individuals living in poverty. Let us aim to promote understanding and dialogue between those affected by poverty and the broader society, and the need for collective action to combat this global challenge.

Yesterday Poverty Reduction Forum Trust (PRFT) hosted the Status of Sexual Reproductive Health Financing Dialogue Workshop. Joining the dialogue were Parliament Portfolio Committees on Health and Child Care and Diasbility Caucus and CSOs working on SRH.

Community feedback presented highlighted that there are barriers hindering women, girls and PWDs from accessing SRH services. These include social and cultural barriers as well as lack of menstrual hygiene kits and SRH services.

Distance barriers have been noted to be one of the biggest barriers in accesing SRH services by women in marginalized communities. Therefore there's need for mobile clinics that provide SRH services as a solution to the problem.
