WILDLIFE & ENVIRONMENT ZIMBABWE – MASHONALAND BRANCH

Young Minds, Wild Futures: Mashonaland Schools Wildlife & Environment Quiz

Each year, the bush comes to the classroom. And the classroom comes to the bush.

Wildlife & Environment Zimbabwe, Mashonaland Branch, is proud to host one of the country’s most anticipated youth conservation events: the Primary Schools Wildlife & Environment Quiz. Now a firm fixture for “environmentally switched on” schools, the Quiz is more than competition — it’s formation.

How It Works

Open to paid-up member schools, each team fields, 3 participating pupils + 1 substitute. At just $20/year for public primary schools and $100/year for trust & private primary schools, membership is an investment in the next generation of conservation leaders.

The Quiz is fast, fair, and educative: 10 categories, 5 questions each, 2 points per question. Teams get 20 seconds to answer on a board or answer sheet. After each question, the answer is revealed — instant feedback, instant learning. Judges score live, and partial points reward partial knowledge. The top 2–3 teams, depending on national slots, advance to the WEZ National Quiz Competitions.
