In a nutshell, Toastmasters International is a world-leading non-profit educational organization that currently operates a network of 16500 clubs in 142 countries worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking and leadership skills. Through its thousands of member clubs, Toastmasters International offers a program of communication and leadership projects designed to help you to learn the arts of speaking, listening, thinking and evaluating in a supportive environment. Membership in Toastmasters is one of the greatest investments you can make for yourself. At $45 every six months, it is also one of the most cost-effective, skill-building organisations available anywhere and that offers internationally recognised certificates for each successfully completed stage, which will no doubt enhance your CV or career profile. Furthermore, you have the opportunity to network and learn from professionals and entrepreneurs from all walks of life. Unlike other institutions, the main requirement to join Toastmasters is that you be 18 years of age and above. Your initial investment when joining is +/- $80 broken down as follows:
$20 joining fee (Once off fee)
$45 subs for 6 months (every month HQ will send you a magazine and other electronic updates)
$5 bank charges
$10 monthly subs

My experience has been that the membership fees are worth more than every cent one pays given the personal growth opportunities and pure enjoyment Toastmasters has provided me and so many of my fellow members. Metropolitan Toastmasters Club is one of the 16 500+ clubs and meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at Ambassador Hotel from 18.00 - 20.00 hrs.
