THEN & NOW

From young women who embarked on a life-changing exchange journey to women who are now creating impact in their communities and beyond.

The exchange may have ended, but the journey continued. The experiences, friendships, lessons and memories continue to shape who we are today.
Our stories may have changed, but the impact of the exchange lives on.

This is our journey. This is our growth. This is our impact.

Reconnecting, Reflecting, and Reviving! ⚜️✨🇿🇼
Our global sisterhood is all about creating lifelong impact, and recently, we’ve been hitting the ground running with our school membership re-engagement activities!

Spearheaded by our wonderful YESS GIRLS Movement- Zimbabwe Girl Guides Professional Participant, Annielle from🇧🇮 Burundi Girl Guides Association , we have reached 7 schools to connect with both our incredible former members and eager new faces.

Together, we’ve been taking a moment to reflect on:
🌟 What makes a Girl Guide stand out: How our training and values shape girls into unique, outstanding leaders.
💭 Our favorite memories: Reliving the campfire songs, badge-earning moments, and pure joy of Guiding.
🤝 The power of the sisterhood: What we truly gain from being part of a massive, supportive global family.

Seeing the spark reignite in these schools reminded us just how powerful this movement is!
🔔 Is your school or community unit currently inactive? Do you want to bring the magic of Girl Guiding back to life in your area?

The banners are down, but the celebration continues! 🥳🇿🇼🏆

The WAGGGS World Conference may have come to an end, but the Girl Guides Association of Zimbabwe is still celebrating the incredible fruits of our meaningful participation on the global stage!
Please join us in celebrating the phenomenal leadership of our very own:
🌟 Rumbidzai Tazviwana – Honored as a WAGGGS Honorary Associate for her dedicated volunteer service on the Finance and Audit Committee.
🌟 Lucia Ndanga – Honored as a WAGGGS Honorary Associate for her invaluable contributions to Guiding at the World and Regional committee levels .

We are also bringing home our hard-earned Membership Growth Award and our WAGGGS Consultation Participation Certificate. These achievements belong to every single Girl Guide in Zimbabwe working hard on the ground to grow our movement.

The conference is over, but our mission to empower, lead, and grow has only just begun! 🚀🩵

Empowered minds, safer futures! 💻🛡️✨

We spent an exciting day at Delamor Primary School to facilitate an impactful dual session on our Surfsmart and Free Being Me programmes. 🏫 We were incredibly inspired by how actively these brilliant young people participated throughout the sessions!

During our discussions, the students courageously shared their own experiences navigating online grooming attempts and internet abuse, showing just how urgent digital safety training is today. 🙅🏾‍♀️🌐 Thanks to the Surfsmart curriculum, they left equipped with the tools to spot dangers and safely leverage the internet to unlock future success and opportunities without fear. 🚀

At the same time, we dove deep into appearance-related anxieties. The students spoke passionately about how they will take these lessons home to encourage their families and community members to embrace body positivity. They are ready to lead the charge in creating an inclusive environment where no young person is held back from social activities or leadership roles due to appearance anxiety! 👑❤️

The future is safe, smart, and beautifully confident! 🇿🇼💙

Honoring the African Child by empowering the next generation. 🇰🇭🛫🇿🇼

Today, on the Day of the African Child, the Girl Guides Association of Zimbabwe is celebrating a historic achievement at the 39th WAGGGS World Conference in Cambodia!

We are ecstatic to announce that GGAZ has received the WAGGGS Africa Region Membership Growth Award ! This certificate recognizes our exceptional achievement in promoting and expanding Girl Guiding, providing life-changing opportunities for young women across Zimbabwe.

Seeing our delegation represent us globally, reminds us exactly why our mission matters. We don't just clear paths for girls; we build a foundation where they can step onto the world stage with confidence.

Every African child deserves the right to lead, to grow, and to thrive safely. We are bringing this award home to every single Guide who makes our sisterhood so vibrant! 🩵👑

Confidence is cool, but taking action to protect it is a superpower! 💥🦸🏾‍♀️

We recently took our global Free Being Me movement to Hatfield Primary School, and the girls didn’t just learn about self-esteem—they became advocates! We challenged them to look at how appearance anxiety stops girls from participating in school, sports, and leadership, and the ideas they came up with to change their school environment were absolutely inspiring. 🏫✨
By training these young change-makers to challenge unrealistic beauty standards, we are creating a ripple effect of body confidence across the community. They are officially taking a stand to say: Our worth is defined by our actions, our minds, and our hearts—not our appearance! 🗣️✊🏾

🌟The future of leadership is bold, authentic, and completely free to be itself. Let’s keep taking action! 🇿🇼💙
