We all dread it happening! That moment when you realise your child is lost! ๐ณ Do your kids know what to do if they get lost? What if you are travelling and they are in an unfamiliar country? Teach your children these few simple rules for when they are lost.
1) Stay still as soon as you realise you are lost. Mommy and Daddy are more likely to find you if you stay still.
2) Look for another Mommy with children and ask them to stay with you until your Mommy or Daddy finds you.
3) Teach your child a special password. If someone tries to take you to your Mommy, ask the person for the password. If they don't know the password, don't go with them.
4) Don't teach your child to ask for help from a policeman. It seems like a great idea, but 9 times out of 10 they will be walking away from you to try and find one! Also policemen look and behave very differently, depending on where you are.
5) Teach your child their name and their Mum and Dad's name. As soon as they are old enough, teach them their age, phone number and address....as soon as you can. Keep practicing those regularly.
6) Before going on a day out or travelling, take a photo of your child so you can remember what they are wearing.
Let's hope you will never need it, but it doesn't hurt for you and your child to be prepared ๐
