The medium term vision of Awareness Africa is meant to consolidate the achievements made in the short term. To establish a youth network in other areas outside Zimbabwe. Affording equal and equitable control and ownership of resources in order to address the issue of gender inequalities amongst youths. Changing social practices that subject youths to deprivation. Awareness Africa long term vision seeks to empower all youths through : The establishment of youth network structures in other various areas outside Zimbabwe. Considering youth issues in order to eliminate all negative economic, social, political and cultural practices that impede equity leading to youth deprivation. Establishing community projects aimed at empowering youths. Strengthening institutional and legal capacities that deal with youth issues. Values and Ethics of the organization.
To lead by example. To accomodate different personalities and characters so as to allow the free exchange of ideas between young men and women across the continent. Realizing that fellow young people have a greater impact on their peers, Awareness Africa endevors to achieve the following: Establish a youth empowerment network that focuses on the young person[24 years and below] To establish links with other similar organizations. Facilitate research and dissemination of relevant information on issues affecting youth. Initiate a recognition or award mechanism that recognises the social contributions of young persons in communities. To increase awareness amongst youths mostly adolescents and post adolescents youths on current initiatives pertaining their well being. Initiate extensive and intensive career guidance amongst youths and initiate local and international partnerships with similar organizations. To work with those children living and working on the streets with specific interest being put on their backgrounds. The potential of these children is our inspiration. To provide a platform or structure for cooperating, coordinating, managing and sharing skills, best practices, challenges and solutions on issues affecting youths in Africa. Conducting Awareness campaigns on topical issues pertaining the well being of youths. This implying their social, economic and political well being. INTRODUCTION. Awareness Africa is a youth empowerment network whose core business is rigidly located within the parameters of inculcating in all youths a sense of self sufficiency, excellence, importance and integrity. As an organization we believe that our lives begin to end the moment we remain silent about the things that matter. As youths of Africa we have taken time to remember that more than 30 million children are living and working on the streets . They are a result of the continents poor economies, selfish governance not to mention the social framework. They suffer from insecurity, abuse, exploitation, violence,stigma" the word street kid.", discrimination and rejection. Due to several social, economic and political factors these children are being denied their rights to adequate food, shelter, clean water[basic human rights.], clothing as well as their rights to clothing, love , care and protection. We should give back to these children their childhood. This means giving them parental love, family protection, the joy of discovery, a playful environment and the opportunity of leaving a harmonious life in society. It is the realization for the urgent need of action in favor of these children that the idea of Awareness Africa stemmed up. WHY ZIMBABWE FIRST...
Apart from accepting the truth in the dictum "charity begins at home" we also believe that Zimbabwe's true success lies first in our true acceptance of who we are. We more so advocate. A NEW PATH FOR AFRICAN YOUTH DEVELOPMENT. Awareness Africa's program"a new path for African youth development" is meant to achieve a better understanding of the complex challenges which confront modern day youths of Africa at large. It is meant to lay a solid foundation for the actions which must be taken to improve their well being. The program focuses on various clusters but of considerable interest is that of community development that focuses on youths and the community.
