It was a great honor to attend Beats and Rhymes for Climate Justice a powerful space where creativity meets the call for climate action.

At the Innovation Village for Young African Minds, we believe in the transformative power of collaboration and innovation. Young people across Africa hold immense potential, and by working together bringing our unique talents and skills to the table , we can shape the sustainable future we all envision. We encourage a culture of partnership, where ideas are shared, solutions are built, and the voices of young people become the driving force for change.

As we took positve action , we realised that it is impossible to ignore the disappointing outcomes of COP29, particularly on the New Collective Quantified Goal on Climate Finance and the chronic underfunding of adaptation and loss and damage efforts. This failure further underscores the urgency for young people to rise as advocates for justice, demanding increased adaptation finance and fair solutions for vulnerable communities.

Let us be clear: sustainable development cannot happen without us. As the Innovation Village, we are committed to working with all stakeholders governments, civil society, and the private sector to amplify our collective impact. Together, we can turn challenges into opportunities, creating resilient communities and a just world.

Thank you Kuwadzana Press Tafadzwa Gwini for inviting us to be part of this incredible event for climate justice . Let us continue to push boundaries and redefine what is possible.

In light of the pressing challenges posed by climate change, particularly for Global South nations disproportionately affected by its impacts, it is essential that development initiatives prioritize environmental sustainability. To ensure effective action, we must engage all stakeholders in the planning, implementation, and monitoring processes.

As IVYAM, we strive to compliment government efforts for greater outcomes, as part of these efforts we took an opportunity to attend and meaningfully participate in the Second Climate Change and Development Conference in Zimbabwe, alongside the Local Conference of Youth 2024 held at Harare International Conference Centre from 2nd -3rd of October 2024. This two-day event was an invaluable opportunity for collective dialogue and action, emphasizing the critical importance of amplifying youth voices as we approach COP29 and work towards refining targets of the Nationally Determined Contributions Draft 3.0 and ensuring that the final document aligns with national priorities and international commitments.

We urge all stakeholders to recognize the urgency of this moment and commit to collaborative efforts that will shape a sustainable future for all. Let us come together to foster inclusive solutions that address the climate crisis and its far-reaching effects.
