It was a great honor to attend Beats and Rhymes for Climate Justice a powerful space where creativity meets the call for climate action.
At the Innovation Village for Young African Minds, we believe in the transformative power of collaboration and innovation. Young people across Africa hold immense potential, and by working together bringing our unique talents and skills to the table , we can shape the sustainable future we all envision. We encourage a culture of partnership, where ideas are shared, solutions are built, and the voices of young people become the driving force for change.
As we took positve action , we realised that it is impossible to ignore the disappointing outcomes of COP29, particularly on the New Collective Quantified Goal on Climate Finance and the chronic underfunding of adaptation and loss and damage efforts. This failure further underscores the urgency for young people to rise as advocates for justice, demanding increased adaptation finance and fair solutions for vulnerable communities.
Let us be clear: sustainable development cannot happen without us. As the Innovation Village, we are committed to working with all stakeholders governments, civil society, and the private sector to amplify our collective impact. Together, we can turn challenges into opportunities, creating resilient communities and a just world.
Thank you Kuwadzana Press Tafadzwa Gwini for inviting us to be part of this incredible event for climate justice . Let us continue to push boundaries and redefine what is possible.
