ShamwariYemwanasikana The inspirational story of Shamwari Yemwanasikana (SYS) was conceptualised by Ekenia Chifamba, who is the Founding Director of the organization.

The thrust to form an organization that drove the Founding Director was her unconditional passion to see the girl child liberated and uplifted thus having been involved in working for the empowerment of the girl child in child centred non profit making organisations for many years, she and some of her like-minded colleagues could not fold hands and watch the girl child languishing. SYS as an organisation was formed with the aim of emancipating the girl child from all forms of abuse that have and continue to hinder her development. The heart of the organisation is to address the concerns of the girl child and protect her from all issues that have the potential to destroy her dreams, hopes and full development. Therefore the organisation comprises of committed young men and women who each has a story of their own and having all been in organisations that fight for the rights of children and women, came together, combining intellectual and material resources to take up the fight for girls’ rights to a higher level ensuring these young people become future empowered women, a rare breed of women who are not victims but victors in all spheres of life, despite one’s race or creed. More Than Just a Duty: Celebrating a Father’s Act of Love and Advocacy

There is such profound beauty in a father who shows up not just in the big moments, but in the everyday acts of care and understanding.

When a father prioritizes menstrual health, he is doing more than just picking up supplies; he is breaking down barriers, eliminating shame, and affirming that his daughter's dignity and wellbeing are his top priorities.

This act shows a powerful testament to that quiet, steady, and essential love. It reminds us that being a protector and a provider includes being an active ally in a daughter’s journey into womanhood.

To our hero in the police uniform: Thank you for leading by example.

Calling all our followers: If you know this police officer, please tell him to come through to Shamwari Yemwanasikana.

We have a special "Father’s Gift" waiting for him as a token of our appreciation for his kindness and advocacy.

Let’s celebrate fathers who normalize the conversation! 💙💛🙌

A mother is strength, a mother is grace... ✨

Shamwari Yemwanasikana joined the Moms Support Circle community engagement in Kambuzuma Section 2 Hall, hosted by Mom's Reset & Zheera Trust for Women.

It was a beautiful, empowering day filled with ther**eutic games and critical discussions surrounding our well-being. We dove deep into important topics:

Postpartum Support
Breastfeeding Journeys
Self-Care & Healing Conversations

We also took time to unpack what SRHR (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights) really means for Zimbabwean mothers, because strength means knowing your legal rights:

⚖️ The right to reproductive health care (Constitution Section 76)
⚖️ The right to decide about your own body (Constitution Section 52)
⚖️ The right to be free from marital r**e (Criminal Law Code)

⚖️ The right to 98 days paid maternity leave (Labour Act)
Thank you to all the amazing mothers who showed up to learn, share, and heal together. Knowledge is power! 💪🌸

Advancing Youth Health: Strengthening SRHR Across the African Continent

Shamwari Yemwanasikana, in partnership with Women Excel Africa, had the honor of participating in the 9th RHNK Pan-African Adolescent and Youth SRHR Scientific Conference in Mombasa, Kenya.

It was an incredible opportunity to exchange perspectives and knowledge on advancing sexual and reproductive health for young people across the continent.

As we reflect on the insights gained, we remain committed to strengthening SRHR to harness youth agency and potential within Africa's dynamic socio-political and economic landscape.

The event was a vibrant celebration of African children’s voices and rights, brought to life through captivating music and dance performances by the Dzikwa Arts Club. Thought-provoking speeches highlighted key issues affecting the welfare of African children, with a strong focus on this year’s WASH theme, reinforcing the importance of access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene for every child.

Every step taken in our advocacy and community programming contributes to a brighter path for the girls we serve.

“A girl today, a leader tomorrow." Our efforts in child safeguarding, youth empowerment, and gender-inclusive leadership are the foundations upon which this future is built. Let’s continue to educate, empower, and unite for her future, just as we strive to do every day at Shamwari Yemwanasikana.

💛 Saturday Realities | A Story of Hope and New Beginnings 💛

Sometimes, all it takes is one person to listen, one hand to hold, and one shoulder to lean on.

This is the story of a young girl who found support when she needed it most. Through compassion, encouragement, and a safe space to heal, she discovered the strength that had always been within her.

Her journey reminds us that no one should have to face life's challenges alone. When communities come together to support and uplift vulnerable girls, hope is restored, confidence is rebuilt, and new possibilities emerge.

Today, she stands stronger, more hopeful, and ready to embrace a brighter future.

✨ Because every girl deserves someone to believe in her. ✨ Every girl deserves the chance to begin again.

Watch her inspiring journey of resilience, healing, and transformation.
