Female Student Network Trust

Female Student Network Trust Female Student Network Trust (FSNT) is a membership based organization that works with female students in Tertiary Education Institutions in Zimbabwe.

FSNT's concept was born out of the current director's personal experiences as a female student activist, advocating for academic freedoms for students within TEI's.As the only female student leader at that time ,she observed that there were gendered barriers to female students' participation and involvement in decision making processes within TEI's and the wider society. This experience inspired her

to initiate the FSNT and her dream was to see the voices of female students in TEI's being amplified and their concerns addressed.FSNT works closely with the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education,Science and Technology Development as well as the Ministry of Women Affairs ,Gender and Community Development amongst other civil society pressure groups, students organisations and women's organisations .

This month we are reflecting on the Compendium of Female Students’ Voices. Today we spotlight Caroline Kutshwa’s piece on Mental Health Challenges Among Female Students.

From academic pressure to body image struggles, safety concerns, and financial stress her words remind us that behind every achievement is a journey often marked by unseen battles.

💜 Let’s break the silence, challenge stigma, and affirm that mental health matters. Every female student deserves support, dignity, and care.

Today we hosted a planning meeting with the Parliamentof Zimbabwe at our offices in Harare. The session built on the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in March between Female Student Network Trust and Paliament of Zimbabwe focusing on operationalising the agreement.

The delegation was led by Mr. N. Samu, Chief Director Strategy Programs in Parliament of Zimbabwe, who guided discussions on mapping joint activities under the MOU.

Key areas highlighted included student leadership development, consultative forums with parliamentary committees, simplified governance information, and strengthened advocacy support.

This engagement marks an important step in translating the MOU into action, ensuring that young women in higher and tertiary institutions benefit directly through leadership opportunities, access to governance processes, and platforms to influence national policy.

Happy Mother’s Day from Female Student Network Trust 🌸

Today we honor the strength, love, and resilience of mothers everywhere especially those who nurture, guide, and support students through every challenge.

A mother’s love is a lesson in patience, a reminder of grace, and a source of courage. Despite our shortcomings, mothers stand as pillars of support, shaping futures with compassion and unwavering belief.

To all mothers in our communities and campuses: thank you for being the heartbeat of transformation. Your love inspires us to rise, lead, and break barriers.

💐 Happy Mother’s Day!
