At Youth Ensemble, we believe real youth empowerment doesn't happen in silos. 💡

Under the Safe and Inclusive Cities (SAIC) project, we blend Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) directly with Youth Economic Empowerment (YEE).

Why pair SRHR with economic empowerment?
Because a young person cannot build a stable livelihood without control over their health, rights, and body. When youth are safe and healthy, their economic potential thrives. 📈

Why the peer-led approach?
Meaningful engagement starts with trust. Our TVET Champions lead our SRHR sessions, safety initiatives, social cohesion drives, and intergenerational dialogues.

When young people learn from their peers, it breaks down stigma, builds real trust, and fosters genuine leadership. 🤝 ✨

Transforming Youth Potential into Power!

This year, Youth Ensemble, in partnership with Plan International Zimbabwe through Safe and Inclusive Cities (SAIC) project, has officially enrolled 120 young people into market-relevant technical and vocational skills training!

From solar installation, electrical engineering, and welding to plumbing, culinary arts, brick molding and laying, poultry,mortuary sciences, cellphone repairs, beautician trades, and refrigeration repair—these 120 youths are gaining the practical hands-on tools, business literacy, and safety training needed to unlock immediate employment and spark entrepreneurial resilience.

We aren't just teaching trades; we're empowering a new generation to earn decent incomes, build thriving micro-enterprises, and actively shape safer, economically vibrant communities.

Youth Ensemble is currently taking part in the crucial Safe and Inclusive Cities 2.0 Quarterly Review Meeting, alongside our partners Dialogue on Shelter. Yet Trust. Zizo Motion Pictures BOOST Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe with the incredible support of Plan International Zimbabwe

As SAIC 2.0 moves into its final stretch, the conversation isn't just about wrapping up—it’s about looking forward. The main theme of this review has challenged us to stop viewing sustainability as just a "final plan," but rather as a living process that we weave into our daily work right now.

To make our three main goals—Influencing, Safety & Well-Being, and Decent Work—even stronger, we are focusing on:
• Layering our impact: Finding powerful ways to connect safety and youth well-being directly with decent work and livelihood opportunities.
• Collective Power: Collaborating and reflecting deeply with partner institutions to share best practices and double our impact.

We are excited to integrate these insights into our hub activities and community pathways, ensuring that the safe, inclusive spaces we’ve built together continue to thrive!

🩸 Bridging the Gap: Ending Period Stigma & Breaking Contraceptive Barriers!🚫✨

What a powerful and transformative day at the Youth Ensemble Hub Under theSafe and Inclusive Cities Project, we hosted a vibrant SRHR Intergenerational Dialogue in commemoration of International Menstrual Hygiene Day.
We didn’t just talk—we broke down walls and challenged the deeply rooted, harmful norms surrounding contraception use among women and girls.

Real change happens when the whole community sits at the table. We were incredibly honored to bring together a diverse powerhouse of voices:

➡️Health Practitioners & Nurses🩺

From sacred pulpits to clinic hallways, and from family living rooms to our streets, the consensus was clear: Access to SRHR information and services is a fundamental right, not a taboo!

By breaking the silence on menstrual health and dismantling myths around contraception, we are building safer, healthier, and more inclusive communities for our young people.

We were honored to host a vibrant delegation of young people from Germany at the Youth Ensemble Hub. As part of a dynamic youth exchange initiative by Plan International Germany and Plan International Zimbabwe this visit centered on strengthening cultural understanding and peer-to-peer collaboration on Gender Equality.

Exploring SDG 5 Through a Global Lens
During their time at the Hub, participants delved into how history, culture, and lived experiences shape our perspectives on Sustainable Development Goal 5. It was an inspiring day of:
Peer Learning:Sharing local and international approaches to gender justice.
Cultural Connection: Building meaningful bridges between Zimbabwean and German youth.
Collaboration: Identifying ways young leaders can drive inclusion and positive change across borders.
