Strengthening Resources for Greater Impact

AWET joined members of the Gender and Faith Network (GFN) Zimbabwe for a participatory Resource Mobilization Strategy Workshop, focused on strengthening the Network’s ability to mobilise resources for sustainable impact.

The one-and-a-half-day workshop provided space to review the current funding landscape, identify gaps and opportunities, map potential donors and partners, and develop strategic actions for the updated GFN Zimbabwe Resource Mobilization Strategy.

For AWET, strengthening resource mobilisation is about more than securing funding—it is about building partnerships and sustainable resources that enable faith communities to advance gender justice, community empowerment, and meaningful change.

At AWET, we believe prevention also happens in the spaces where people live, learn, and connect.

KNOWING YOUR RIGHTS IS THE FIRST STEP TO CLAIMING THEM.

Empowerment is not only about creating opportunities. It is also about making sure women and girls have the knowledge and confidence to understand their rights, access essential services, speak up when those rights are violated, and participate in decisions that affect their lives.

Too often, harmful social norms and expectations can make inequality seem normal.

P.O.W.E.R is creating spaces for communities in Shurugwi to question those norms, understand rights and responsibilities, and build a culture where women and girls can participate, lead, and live free from violence and discrimination.

You cannot claim what you do not know you have.
