During the visit, staff were able to:
✨ Practice active listening while engaging with children
✨ Observe child-friendly communication
✨ See how supportive spaces help children express themselves

The field visit reinforced the core of the Relational Spaces for Children competency, showing that meaningful connection, presence, and active listening are essential to creating environments where children feel safe and valued.

Creating Safe & Transformative Spaces for Children

World Vision is honoured to conduct the Relational Spaces for Children Workshop, which commenced today. This 4-day Training of Trainers (TOT) is empowering participants from the northern region and is also supported by colleagues from the Global Centre.

The workshop equips participants with skills to:
✨ Create safe psychological spaces for children
✨ Empower them to speak up and share their experiences
✨ Strengthen local support networks
✨ Build nurturing and transformative environments

With one day dedicated to practical application, the training ensures that lessons go beyond theory to impact real lives. By integrating these approaches into our programming, we are better positioned to address authentic issues affecting children and support them more effectively. 👧🏿 👦🏿

World Vision🇿🇼, in partnership with the Government of France, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the Government of Zimbabwe, is implementing the Nourish and Thrive project—an initiative designed to address both the immediate and underlying causes of child wasting and poor nutrition among women and vulnerable households.

Targeting communities in Masvingo and Mwenezi Districts, the project combines nutrition education, social protection, agricultural support, and capacity strengthening to build healthier, more resilient families.

This week, World Vision facilitated the redemption of agricultural input e-vouchers, enabling 4,000 targeted beneficiaries to access vital farming supplies. Through this system, households are empowered to choose inputs that best meet their needs—including traditional grain seeds, legumes, horticulture seeds, fertilizers, and essential farm implements.

By equipping families with the right tools and knowledge, Nourish and Thrive is helping communities improve nutrition, boost food production, and build long-term resilience against hunger and malnutrition.

This week has been truly amazing! Our dedicated team players from the Southern Region came together for the Relational Spaces for Children Training, a transformative World Vision initiative designed to strengthen how we connect, communicate and work with children and communities.

Our team players enjoyed every minute of the sessions, diving into practical topics such as active listening, child-friendly communication, and the importance of creating safe, engaging formats that allow children to express themselves freely.

The training was filled with interactive activities, meaningful insights, and powerful learning moments that will help our teams build stronger, more supportive spaces for every child we serve.
