2027 Health Budget: Health Must Remain a National Priority

As Zimbabwe prepares for the 2027 National Budget, we need more than bigger allocations to health. We need adequate, predictable and efficiently used domestic resources that translate into quality health services for communities.

Every dollar allocated to health should make a difference — from medicines and equipment to health workers and stronger health facilities.

Invest in health. Invest in Zimbabwe.

Global Week for Action on NCDs 2026

This week, we join the global call for action under the theme: “Leadership in Focus: From Commitment to Delivery.”

Non-communicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and chronic respiratory diseases continue to affect families, communities and health systems.

Zimbabwe needs leadership that moves beyond commitments to action, investment and accountability.

It is time to turn promises into progress and commitments into delivery.

Health taxes are more than a revenue measure - they are a powerful public health tool.

Taxes on sugary drinks, to***co products, and processed & fatty foods can encourage healthier lifestyles, reduce long-term medical costs and generate resources for prevention and treatment.

CWGH calls for stronger health taxes and for the revenue raised to support health, not treasury gaps.

The 4th Annual Reproductive Justice Litigation Baraza 2026 brought together diverse voices to explore how strategic litigation, evidence and lived experiences can advance sexual and reproductive health and rights.

The conversation may have ended, but the work towards reproductive justice for all continues.

The CWGH family is deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Bantwana Zimbabwe Executive Director, Mr Mbonisi Tshuma.

His passion, dedication and commitment to serving communities, particularly vulnerable children and young people, will be remembered with great respect.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, colleagues and all those whose lives he touched.

May his soul rest in peace.

Bringing SRH services closer to young people in Vic Range, Masvingo!

CWGH yesterday held an SRHR Awareness Campaign in Masvingo - connecting young people with essential sexual and reproductive health services because access to quality care should not be determined by age, location or ability to pay.

Services on offer included MNCH services, menstrual hygiene information and support, family planning services, HIV testing
and mental health support

The awareness campaign was held in partnership with the MoHCC, ZNFPC, BHASO, My Age, BAWA, Chosen Generation and Deaf Zimbabwe.

Together, we are working to ensure that SRH services are accessible, appropriate, affordable and available to all young people.
