A cleft lip surgery is life-changing. It improves a child’s ability to feed, speak, and smile without stigma. But beyond the medical impact, the transformation for a mother is even deeper.

Whiteboards are cleaner, easier to read and safer for little lungs, helping teachers teach and students focus without dust or visibility strain. This simple upgrade transforms everyday lessons into clearer, more engaging learning experiences.

After losing her cleft-affected daughter, Shumiro, at just four months old, Danai Magandi transformed her grief into hope and founded the Shumiro Sarah Crystal Magandi Trust. The trust is dedicated to ensuring no cleft-affected family in Zimbabwe walks their journey alone.

Through emotional support, coordination of care, and tireless advocacy, Aunty Danai’s mission continues to bring light to countless families proving that even the deepest pain can spark powerful change.
