Our History

The founder James Bayanai is a son of a peasant farmer from the Chirumanzu rural district in Zimbabwe, Africa. He studied Bachelor of Law Honors Degree at the University of Zimbabwe and is now a human right

s, women rights and development activist. Having specialized in human rights and humanitarian law during his legal studies and coming from a community where women’s rights are least respected due to a patriarchal system, he felt he has an obligation to fight for the promotion of the rights of women, gender equality and women education. After observing that education in Zimbabwe has been severely affected by the countries 10-year economic and social turmoil . After realizing that the computer illiteracy rate in rural Zimbabwe is 98%. And after discovering that the student book ratio is 1 book per 40 students, James founded an organization called the Zimbabwe Youth Development Foundation Trust , which seeks to promote education in Zimbabwe’s rural communities.
