The Young Achievement Sports for Development (YASD) was formed in January 2005. We are a non-profit making, community-based entity that uses soccer, educational support and performance arts as mediums to reach children and youths with messages of HIV/AIDS prevention, self confidence, drug and substance abuse and other child protection related issues. The organization works primarily with disadvant

aged children who lack the privileges of life that their counterparts enjoy. YASD is currently situated in Hatcliffe Extension, one of the most impoverished high density suburbs in Harare, approximately 25 km north east of the City Center.

Young Achievement Sports for Development celebrates the power on networking and building synergies for sustainable development . Our structured sports training program has been benefitting from expertise and experience of a volunteer from the Netherlands, Miled .

During the course of her stay Miled took to the field with the children of Mbare for a fun and energetic community hockey session!

It was more than just a game, it was about connection, culture, and creating safe, joyful spaces for kids to grow. Through sport, we continue to bridge worlds, build friendships, and empower young people one play at a time.

Big thanks to Miled for bringing his energy and heart to the field. The smiles said it all!

What an incredible Saturday it was! Young Achievement Sports for Development (YASD), in a powerful collaboration with the City of Harare and Hatcliffe Social Services, hosted a dynamic event focused on "Empowering communities, breaking chains and fighting drug and substance abuse."

The energy was electrifying as participants took to the streets for the 5km walk and 10km run, demonstrating their commitment to a healthier, drug-free Zimbabwe. It was truly inspiring to see so many individuals from across our communities stepping up and showing their support.

We were especially honored by the presence of key leaders and stakeholders, including the Deputy Mayor of Harare and representatives from the Police Drugs and Narcotics department, highlighting the vital multi-sectoral effort needed to tackle this critical issue. The day was also packed with fun and fitness, with lively Zumba aerobics sessions getting everyone moving and grooving!

A massive thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported this impactful event. Together, we are building stronger, more resilient communities and creating a brighter future for our youth.

In July 2024, Young Achievement Sports for Development team proudly joined in France! Alongside 500+ youth from 36 countries,to the incredible power of sport and the Olympics Paris 2024 legacy.

For young people from marginalized communities in Zimbabwe, this was truly life-changing. It proved that with opportunity and belief, they can rise beyond their circumstances and stand shoulder to shoulder with global changemakers.

At YASD, we use sport as a tool for development, resilience, and inclusion in marginalized communities. Festival 24 powerfully reaffirmed our mission to empower youth, foster global connections, and elevate African voices on the world stage.

Huge thanks to for creating a platform where dreams meet purpose and leadership is shaped through play!
