Gender & Media Connect

Gender & Media Connect Gender and Media Connect (GMC) is an institution whose aim and vision are to enable women from diverse sectors of society to engage with the media.

GMC is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) established in 1985, targeting women in the print and electronic media. It was formed out of the realisation that media women were marginalized in mainstream media and publishing activities. it is a fact more men than women control what is covered and who speaks to what issues. There needs to be a gender sensitive approach to decision making.

Emerging from the session was a key concern:
How can we ensure that those in senior authority who misuse their power are held accountable?

Leave your answer in the comment section.
