While many community programmes over the years have rightly focused on empowering young women and girls, there has been a gap when it comes to engaging young men and boys. The initiative is standing in to bridge that gap through the creation of spaces for men to have open conversations, access support services, and play an active role in building healthier and informed communities.

Feminism is a structure built by systems of power and it must be dismantled brick by brick. There are even women who act as gatekeepers of these systems, trying to push us out of the idea. So we keep fighting.

HOPE's young women participated and joined other women in the joyful launch of two powerful books:
Sun, Soil and Sisterhood: Journeys in African Ecofeminism and Regaining the Currents🌸

We showed up, spoke up, and got our hands dirty for both people and the planet. This is eco-feminism: questioning who controls our bodies and our land, and choosing to rebuild both with justice and care.

A day with the ladies at Butler Farm discussing issues on hygiene and menstrual hygiene, guiding them with practical, clear knowledge to help them understand their bodies and take confident care of themselves. We talked about daily cleanliness, good personal hygiene habits, and how to properly manage menstruation with dignity, safety, and proper sanitation practices so they can feel comfortable, protected, and in control throughout every cycle.

This was more than just a lesson; it was empowerment. The goal was for every girl to leave knowing that menstruation is normal, that hygiene is essential, and that confidence begins with self-respect. Every AGYW deserves accurate information, dignity, and support. 💧✨🩸

Empowering young women with knowledge, confidence, and voice 💜

HOPE for Adolescents and Youth conducted a refresher training with Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYWs), strengthening their capacity in advocacy, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), family planning, TB, and malaria awareness.

Through this engagement, AGYWs deepened their understanding, sharpened their advocacy skills, and strengthened their role as peer educators and community change-makers.

When young women are informed and empowered, they don’t just transform their own lives they uplift entire communities.
