Mutare is live!

The second cohort of the Basic Water & Wastewater Operators Course is currently underway, bringing together operators, attendants, and technical personnel committed to improving WASH service delivery in Zimbabwe.

Strengthening frontline capacity for improved WASH service delivery!

IWSD successfully conducted the Basic Water and Wastewater Operators Course for the Kwekwe Cluster, bringing together operators, attendants, plumbers, and technical staff from various Local Authorities.

With the recent gazetting of SI 170 of 2025 (Minimum Service Delivery Standards), the role of competent frontline operators has never been more important.

The training focused on practical skills in plant operations, process monitoring, maintenance, safety, and emergency response supporting Zimbabwe’s NDS 2 agenda on capacity building and improved service delivery.

Today, we celebrate the powerful connection between water and gender equality—recognizing that access to safe water can transform lives, empower women and girls, and create more inclusive and resilient communities.

As we mark this important day, some of our staff members proudly took part in a fun run in Masvingo, representing IWSD and showing support for water awareness and positive action 🏃‍♂️💙

The HND in Water and Sanitation Management Class of 2026 is in Session!
Following the successful completion of their online learning sessions in February, our 2026 class is now engaged in an intensive three-week face-to-face block release.

This phase focuses on deepening practical competencies, peer learning, and applied problem-solving in water and sanitation management — strengthening the leadership and technical capacity needed to improve service delivery across the sector.

At the Institute of Water and Sanitation Development, we are proud to see professionals advancing their expertise and commitment to sustainable water and sanitation solutions.
