Community spirit is fantastic! (A short story😄)
Disaster struck in early December with the onset of the rains - the roof of our residents' beloved TV lounge succumbed to years of wear & tear & the entire TV lounge was flooded & destroyed. Hayley Mellor of Dusk Home Stores sprang into action & mobilised her walking buddies & other friends (Nick Brice, Sam & Mel Covarr, J Skinner, Debbie Mellor, Linda Henderson, Annie Hogg & Grant Campbell) to raise funds to refurb the lounge. The outpouring of support was fantastic & all the paint was donated by Nick (discounted by Quality Paints), funds raised by the others covered 2 comfy loungesuites & the curtains, cushions & pictures were donated by the lovely Hayley 😍.
George Burt of National Carpets & Curtains Zimbabwe replaced the carpet at a generous discount & Ryan Bekker got the roof repaired. Words cannot express how deeply we appreciate all of your support - thank you from the bottom of our hearts! 💓

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Nomads Mashonaland and Northern To***co for their incredibly generous donation towards the purchase of a new bus for the elderly residents of BS Leon Trust.

Lighting the Way This Christmas

Christmas at the B S Leon Trust is a season filled with warmth, laughter, and love. It’s the sound of carols drifting through the hallways, the sparkle of decorations lovingly placed, and the joy of residents reminiscing about Christmases gone by. For over seventy years, our Trust has been a haven for those in their later years—a place where kindness and care shine brighter than any Christmas light. We extend our deepest gratitude to our angels who have donated throughout the year; your continuous support is the steady flame that keeps our mission alight, day in and day out.

This year, as we prepare to celebrate, we’re also looking forward to a special event that captures the spirit of joy and togetherness we hold dear—our fundraising pantomime, Aladdin, at Reps Theatre on Friday, 5 December 2025. It promises an evening of laughter and magic, bringing our community together to support the residents who mean so much to us.

Buying a ticket is one lovely way to be part of that magic—but it’s just the beginning. Every act of generosity, whether through donations, gifts in kind, or time spent with our residents, helps us keep that light glowing long after the curtain falls. Together, we can ensure that no one at B S Leon feels forgotten this Christmas—or at any time of year. Because here, surrounded by love and community, hope truly lives—and together, we are lighting the way.
