Yesterday, in response to a donation request from the Mayor’s office, Green Light International Trust donated six mobility devices to support people with disabilities
These devices are more than equipment.
They represent movement, dignity, independence, and hope for those who need them most.
We would like to clearly state that our support for the Mayor’s social services to people with disabilities is purely humanitarian—not political, not personal, and not driven by any agenda. Our mission is simple: to help where help is needed.
The Mayor expressed appreciation for the donation and our organizational information, affirming a shared commitment to continue working together as one family in service of the community.
At GLIT, we believe compassion should never have conditions. When we serve with sincerity, everyone moves forward.

On 13 December, something extraordinary happened 💚

Green Light International Trust took children with severe disabilities to Victoria Falls—many of them experiencing travel, adventure, and pure joy for the very first time.

As the water thundered and the mist touched their faces, smiles appeared where words were not needed. In those moments, limitations faded, and human connection took over.

This trip wasn’t about a destination.
It was about belonging.
It was about reminding these children that their lives matter, their joy matters, and they deserve beautiful memories too.

Thank you to every caregiver, volunteer, and supporter who helped turn this dream into reality. Together, we are building a world that includes everyone.

GLIT Brings Mobility and Independence to Kwekwe’s Disabled Community

On 18th October, Green Light International Trust (GLIT) made a significant impact in Kwekwe by distributing over 28 mobility devices, including wheelchairs, to marginalized individuals with disabilities. This initiative is part of GLIT’s ongoing mission to empower persons with disabilities, restore independence, and support their rehabilitation.

“Every individual deserves the opportunity to live a fulfilling life, regardless of their abilities,” said GLIT Founder and CEO, Tawanda Makwiramiti.

For many recipients, the mobility devices represent freedom, independence, and a renewed sense of belonging:

Richard Phiri (36): “Receiving this wheelchair has been a game-changer. I can now move around with ease and take part in activities I previously struggled with.”

Shingirai Chiwara: “This wheelchair gave me my independence back. I can go wherever I want, whenever I want, without relying on others.”

Chipo Chakwira: “These mobility devices allow us to participate more in daily life. Our caregivers can now focus on other responsibilities.”

In addition to mobility aids, GLIT also held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 20-hectare Health Hub, which will provide specialized rehabilitation services for children with severe disabilities and victims of drug and substance abuse. This hub aims to deliver care, support, and hope to those who need it most.

From wheelchairs to healthcare initiatives, GLIT continues to create inclusive futures where no one in Zimbabwe is left behind.

*Cultural Counsellor & Green Light International Collaborate to Champion Disabled Artists*

*May 23, 2025*
In a pivotal step towards fostering inclusivity in the arts, the Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Hamid Bakhtiyar, today convened with the Director of Green Light International. Their significant discussion centred on exploring innovative avenues to expand opportunities and create dedicated spaces for artists with disabilities. This collaborative dialogue underscores a shared commitment to dismantling barriers and ensuring that all artists, regardless of physical ability, have equitable access to platforms for creative expression, development, and recognition, thereby enriching the cultural tapestry of Zimbabwe and beyond.
