World Aids Day 2017

World AIDS Day is the day we all come together to raise awareness of the pandemic caused by the spread of infection. We stand in solidarity with 78 million people who have become infected with HIV and remember the 35 million who have died from AIDS-related illnesses since the first cases of HIV were reported.

It is World Education Inc / Bantwana Zim hope that we have more fight in us still to continue our efforts towards the 90-90-90 target goal to end the AIDS epidemic.

JOB VACANCY:

MONITORING AND EVALUATION INTERN BASED IN HARARE

Purpose of Position:

The overall goal of the position is to provide administrative and technical assistance in support of
the implementation of WEI’s Performance Monitoring Plan.

Duration
September 2017 to December 2017

Responsibilities
 Assist in the collection and updating of baseline data on OVC status and profiles.
 Assist in the collection of information on services accessed by OVC.
 Entering OVC data onto a computerised database.
 Generating management reports from the database,
 Assists with the coordination of workshops, meetings and provide logistical support as
necessary.
 Assists with the preparation of reports.
 Performs other administrative duties as required.
Qualifications, Experience and Key Competencies Required
 First degree in Statistics, social sciences, development studies or related discipline.
 1+ years relevant working experience in a supportive role.
 Highly computer literate in Excel spreadsheet, database, SPSS, EPI Info or any other
statistical tools.

Happening now in is the Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Case Management Learning platform where 13 African countries have gathered with a focus on Case Management.

The Conference is being conducted under the theme:
“Building Regional Knowledge and Evidence Towards Strengthened National Case Management Systems” and is being facilitated by the Government of Zimbabwe and UNICEF, with support of the USAID - US Agency for International Development and the Protection Fund (CPF2) which is funded by DFID - UK Department for International Development, Embassy of Sweden in Harare, and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation

Case Management is a coordinated system approach to child protection services that offers a multi-sectoral and standardised response to identifying, assessing and responding to protection cases at a community level. This ensures holistic interventions through services such as access to justice, social protection, health services, and educational assistance.

The Bantwana Initiative. This is an initiative of World Education and John Snow, Inc for orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC).

OVCs do best when they are supported and cared for in their own communities, among extended families, friends, and neighbors. Yet available resources are not getting to where they are most needed—to communities where these children live. By building the skills, resources and networks of local programs already caring for orphaned and vulnerable children, Bantwana offers a different way of thinking, testing, and scaling efforts that will shape the next generation of Africa’s youth.
