Today, Mavambo Orphan Care proudly participated in the Mashonaland East World AIDS Day Commemoration, standing in solidarity with communities in the fight against HIV and AIDS.

The event was a powerful reminder of the importance of awareness, prevention, inclusion, and continued support for vulnerable children, young people and families affected by HIV. Together, we continue to promote hope, health, dignity and a future free from stigma.

Proud moments in Goromonzi District today, as young minds came together for engaging quiz competitions aimed at ending violence in schools and stopping drug and substance abuse. The event, involving 10 primary schools and 10 secondary schools, was organised by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education in partnership with the National AIDS Council and proudly sponsored by Mavambo Orphan Care.

The primary school competitions were held at Chiremba Primary School, while the secondary school contests took place at Thornicroft Primary School.

In the primary school category, the winners were: 1st place – Crowhill, 2nd place – St. John’s Mapfumo, and 3rd place – Parirehwa. For the secondary schools, Visitation Makumbi claimed 1st place, followed by Ruvheneko High in 2nd, and Goromonzi High in 3rd.
The competition empowered learners with knowledge, sparked meaningful conversations, and inspired positive choices for a healthier future.
