As the Founder of Wadzanai Trust, I have seen many leaders, but few move with the quiet, absolute authority of Vuyo Sakala.

In our mission to Celebrate Womanhood, we don’t just need supporters—we need visionaries who understand that a woman’s dignity is the foundation of a nation’s success.

As an "All or Nothing" man, Vuyo doesn't just lend his name to our cause; he invests his heart, his platform, and his global reach and as the Founder of WMD Sounds to ensure our message of Restoring a Woman's Diginty travels further than ever before.
Vuyo’s passion isn't just professional—it’s personal. Driven by his love as a father to a beautiful daughter, he knows that the world we build today is the one our daughters will lead tomorrow. He recognizes that to truly support our ladies, we must educate the men.

The Impact of a Visionary
The Educator of Men: He challenges the silence, teaching men that period poverty isn't a "women's issue"—it’s a human rights issue.
The Pad-Champion: He is the man who "buys the pads," ensuring that no girl in our community has to choose between her education and her pride.

The Global Mogul: As the force behind WMD Sounds, he brings world-class distribution and mentorship to our doorstep, proving that the sky is the limit for our entrepreneurs.

When Vuyo says "...shhh I got her," he is speaking for every father, every mentor, and every ally who stands as a shield for our women.

Join me on May 28th as we welcome Vuyo Sakala to the stage. Together, we are not just distributing hygiene products—we are distributing hope, power, and a future without limits.

In Loving Memory: Audrey Shambiro

The world is often touched by souls whose presence, though brief, leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone they meet. Audrey Shambiro, born on September 15, 2020, was one such radiant light. With her passing on March 21, 2026, we remember a young life defined by an infectious smile and a spirit that glowed with pure, unfiltered joy.

Audrey had a remarkable way of brightening any room. Whether it was through her playful energy or her gentle laughter, she reminded those around her of the beauty found in the simplest moments. Her journey, though shorter than any of us could have imagined, was filled with the kind of love that transcends time.

As we look at her tribute, we see more than just a date of sunrise and sunset; we see a legacy of warmth. The butterflies and sunbeams that surround her image are a fitting testament to a girl who moved through life with grace and brought sunshine to her family every single day.

Though our hearts are heavy with her physical absence, Audrey's light remains unextinguished. It lives on in the stories shared by those who loved her, in the echoes of her laughter, and in the profound impact she made during her five beautiful years.

"Your light continues to shine in our hearts."

Rest in peace, sweet Audrey. You are dearly missed, but your spirit remains a guiding star for us all.

Introducing the Thee Ndau Queen: Ruvarashe Udenge

In a world of fleeting trends, Ruvarashe Udenge stands as a timeless beacon of culture and compassion. Known to many as Thee Ndau Queen, she is far more than a striking model or a gifted artist; she is a relentless advocate for change and the true voice for the voiceless within the Wadzanai Trust.

Ruvarashe carries the rich heritage of the Ndau people with grace, using her platform to weave traditional identity into modern-day activism. Her partnership with the Wadzanai Trust is a testament to her commitment to social justice, particularly in the fight against period poverty and the promotion of child safeguarding.

Through her advocacy she ensures that the most vulnerable in our society are seen, heard, and protected. Whether she is performing on an international stage or conducting workshops in rural communities Ruvarashe embodies the spirit of Ubuntu—believing that our humanity is inextricably bound up in one another.

We are honored to have her as a champion for our cause, proving that true royalty is defined by service, and true art is that which inspires a better world.

A TRIBUTE TO THE LATE PIONEER: MRS. JOHANNA GUMBO

Celebrating a Legacy of Clinical Dignity, Women’s Law, and Mental Stability

"A girl’s dignity is woven from three threads: her health, her rights, and her peace of mind. If one breaks, the woman falls. We are here to keep those threads strong." — The Late Mrs. Johanna Gumbo

Today, as we navigate the vibrant celebrations of Women’s Month, our hearts turn toward a towering figure of grace and resilience. Today would have been your birthday, and though you are no longer with us in person, the "Heart and Shield" of the Wadzanai Trust beats stronger than ever. We celebrate your extraordinary life—a lifelong crusade to treat the whole woman: body, mind, and legal standing.

A Clinical Foundation of Compassion

Your journey began in the mountains of Nyanga down through the Midlands back to the high-pressure wards of Harare and Parirenyatwa Hospitals, serving as a dedicated Nurse Midwife in the Gynecology Departments. On those frontlines, you witnessed the physical toll of reproductive neglect and the silent suffering of women facing health complications without a voice. You didn't just provide care; you provided a sanctuary.

The Architect of Legal Justice

Recognizing that medicine alone could not shield a woman from systemic neglect, you pioneered a path into Women’s Law. You understood that for a woman to be truly healthy, she must be protected by a framework of justice. This transition made you a rare visionary: a clinician who could fight for her patients' rights in the language of the law, ensuring their dignity was anchored in the constitution.

The Guardian of Mental Stability

As one of the longest-serving Counsellors at Midlands State University (MSU), you supported thousands of students through their most vulnerable moments. It was here that you identified the "Educational Silent Killer"—the devastating link between menstrual health crises and mental health instability. You saw how period poverty led to the shadows of anxiety and depression, and you stepped in to ensure no girl’s academic dreams were cut short by a lack of basic needs.

A Birthday Legacy That Lives On

On this day, your birthday, we don't just mourn a loss; we celebrate the thousands of lives you changed. You proved that menstrual hygiene is the cornerstone of mental peace.

Today, the Wadzanai Trust carries forward your holistic vision. Because of your efforts, we continue to ensure that every woman is physically healthy, legally protected, and mentally sound.

Happy Birthday to our Pioneer Mrs Johanna Gumbo!

Your light continues to guide every step we take toward a more dignified future for the girl child.

Honoring the life and vision of Mrs. Johanna Gumbo.

We Salute you...Flying up above watching over us!!!

To the Mamas Doing it All

Being a mother is a journey that changes your world, but being a teen mother makes you a warrior before your time.

There will be days when the world feels loud and the weight feels heavy. There might be people who try to define your future by a single chapter of your life. Don’t let

Your potential hasn’t changed. Your dreams haven’t disappeared; they’ve just gained a very important cheerleader.

Strength isn't about having all the answers. It’s about showing up every single morning, even when you’re tired, and choosing love.

You are a teacher. Every day, you are showing your child what it looks like to be brave, to persevere, and to grow.

"Your current situation is not your final destination. You are capable of being a phenomenal mother and a successful, empowered woman—all at the same time." Wadzanai Gumbo

You Are Not Alone

This community is behind you. We see your hard work, we see your heart, and we are here to help you bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be.

Keep going, Mama. You’re doing better than you think.

Beyond the Flowers: Celebrating Impact and Innovation

International Women's Day has always been about more than just a date on the calendar; it is a global pulse check on progress, equality, and the power of diverse perspectives. This year, we aren't just celebrating "potential"—we are celebrating proven impact.

Why Today Matters

From the engineers shaping the next generation of AI to the community leaders bridging social gaps, women are at the forefront of the decade's most significant shifts.

Today is about recognizing:
The Trailblazers: Those who broke the glass ceilings so the rest of us could see the sky.
The Community Builders: Women who lift as they climb, ensuring that success is never a solo journey.
The Quiet Resilient: The everyday heroes balancing careers, families, and personal growth with unmatched grace.

The 2026 Vision: Equity in Action
True inclusion isn't a checkbox; it’s a culture. As we look forward, the goal is to move from "counting women" to "making women count" in every room where decisions are made. When we invest in women, we don’t just change one life—we transform entire economies and social structures.

"Woven with grace, fueled by ambition, defined by no one but herself." Wadzanai Gumbo

"A woman with a voice is, by definition, a strong woman. But the search to find that voice can be remarkably difficult." Melinda French Gates

Let’s keep the momentum going. Happy International Women’s Day to the disruptors, the dreamers, and the doers!

Supporting Audrey: Our Path to Healing Together
The journey through medical challenges can be daunting, but as our new support poster for Audrey clearly outlines, a structured plan and unwavering community support can light the way.

The "Audrey’s Path to Healing" timeline provides clarity and reassurance for everyone standing by Audrey's side. It breaks down the critical steps of her journey into four clear, hopeful, and manageable phases.
Here’s why this timeline is so vital, and how you can offer support during each step:

1. Home & Recovery (Now)
It is wonderful news that Audrey is out of hospital as of today, February 26, 2026. This is a critical time for resting and gathering strength in the comfort of her own home.
How to help: Offer to drop off a meal, or a book. If she wishes, schedule a short, quiet visit. Send a supportive text just to let her know you are thinking of her. The focus is on rest.

2. Next Treatment (Returning March 9)
The calendar is marked for March 9, 2026, when Audrey returns for her next vital step: Chemotherapy. Knowing the exact date helps her, and her support network, prepare mentally and practically for the next phase.
How to help: Reach out with messages of courage and strength as the date approaches. If needed, offer practical help like a ride to the hospital, or assist with daily chores so she can focus on preparation and rest.

3. Essential Scans (Follow-up)
After the treatment phase, a CT or MRI scan will be performed. This imaging is crucial for monitoring progress and checking how her body has responded.
How to help: This can be an anxious time while waiting for results. Offer constant, positive reassurance. Remind her of the plan and the progress she has made. A thoughtful card or a 'thinking of you' gift can make a huge difference.

4. Biopsy & Planning (The Path Forward)
A biopsy will follow the imaging to provide further detailed analysis. These results are essential for guiding the doctors in creating a long-term plan for care.

How to help: This phase is about looking to the future. Focus on the word "Plan." Encourage optimism and a forward-looking mindset. Celebrate every small victory and remind Audrey that this step brings her closer to a clear roadmap for recovery.

We are with Audrey every step of the way. Use this timeline as a tool for connection and to find practical ways to show your love and support. Let’s keep Audrey in our thoughts and prayers as she walks this path.

Empowering the Next Generation: A Workshop for Young Mothers

In a society that often tries to define individuals by a single chapter of their lives, two powerful organizations are coming together to flip the script for young women. Women Unashamed, in partnership with Wadzanai Trust, has announced an upcoming workshop specifically designed for mothers aged 21 and below.

The event, themed around the powerful mantra "You are not your story," aims to provide a space for young mothers to move beyond societal labels and rediscover their multi-dimensional selves.

Event Details at a Glance

If you or someone you know is a young mother looking for community, inspiration, and growth, here is everything you need to know:
Date: Saturday, 28 March 2026
Time: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Location: 827 Sansource Road, Ruwa
Target Audience: Young mothers aged 21 years and below

Meet the Visionaries

The workshop features two influential leaders dedicated to the upliftment of women:
Brenda Shoko (Host): As the Founder of Women Unashamed, Brenda has built a reputation for creating platforms where women can shed shame and embrace their true potential.

Wadzanai Gumbo (Guest Speaker): The Founder of Wadzanai Trust, Wadzanai brings a wealth of experience in "celebrating womanhood" and supporting women through various life transitions.

Beyond the Labels

The core message of this one-day workshop is transformative. It acknowledges that while society may attempt to limit a young woman's identity to her role as a mother, her potential remains limitless. The organizers promise a transformative day where participants can explore who they are "beyond labels" and rediscover the "multi-dimensional woman"
