Today, HarvestPlus Zimbabwe joined fellow stakeholders at the ARC Technology Demonstration Field Day under the theme:
"Bridging the Gap among FarmerโResearchโExtensionโIndustryโPolicy and Consumer: An Agri-Innovation Field Day for Researchers, Scholars, Farmers and Industry in Zimbabwe.โ
Our key takeaway? Agricultural innovations create the greatest impact when they move beyond research and reach the farmers, businesses, and consumers who need them most.
At our exhibition stand, we engaged farmers, researchers, extension officers, development partners, students, and agribusiness stakeholders on the role of biofortification in addressing hidden hunger in Zimbabwe. We showcased biofortified crops highlighting their nutritional benefits, production opportunities, commercialization pathways, and how they contribute to healthier communities while creating income opportunities for farmers and SMEs.
Building stronger connections among researchers, extension services, farmers, industry, policymakers, and consumers is essential for accelerating the adoption of nutritious, climate-smart agricultural solutions that can help transform Zimbabwe's food systems.
