Yesterday , Mashambanzou Care Trust (MCT) proudly hosted a presentation and official handover ceremony of the ICT equipment for its Nenyere Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre in Mbare donated by the Ministry of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services (ICT). The equipment included Desktop Computers, Laptops, Starlink Kit, Printer and Whiteboard.

This support is in line with the Government of Zimbabwe's commitment to "leave no one and no place behind". This follows the Cabinet's approval of the National Child Online Protection Policy, which seeks to ensure that children can safely access and benefit from digital technologies.

The Guest of Honour, Dr. B Chirume, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of ICT, applauded Mashambanzou for establishing an ECD Centre in Mbare and noted that the donated equipment will greatly benefit the learners, given the evident need for digital learning resources within the community.

The event was also attended by representatives from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Mbare District), City of Harare Social Services Officers, the School Development Committee Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, the founders of Mashambanzou Care Trust Little Company of Mary Sisters of the Roman Catholic Church - Region Leader, Sr Mary Mugodzeri, Mashambanzou Care Trust Board Members, Management, Staff and Learners.

MCT extends its sincere gratitude to the Ministry of ICT for this transformative investment in early childhood education. Together, we are creating opportunities for children to develop digital skills needed to thrive in the 21st century.

At Mashambanzou Care Trust, we believe there can never be interventions for children without the children themselves.

That’s why at our dialogue meeting with the Parliamentary Portfolio Committees on Education and Health held at Kentucky Hotel today, we put young voices at the forefront and center of the discussions.

Junior Parliamentarians from our implementing areas in Zvimba District stood up. Bold. Clear. Brave.

Right in front of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee, line Government Ministries , Non Government Organisations, Parents and presented the real issues affecting children in their own constituencies and communities. No filters. No middlemen. Just truth from those who live it every day.

Because policy only works when it’s shaped by the people it’s meant to serve.

To the Honorable Junior Parliamentarians: We heard you.
To the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee: Thank you for listening.
To our partners at the Oak Foundation through the Family Centered Support Programme, Thank you for creating space for children’s voices.

When we listen to children, we build a Better Zimbabwe - together.

On 19 May 2026. Mashambanzou Care Trust proudly distributed 17 bicycles to our dedicated Community Care Givers from Zvimba District who have been faithfully serving the organisation since 2018. Mashambanzou Care Trust had the honor of joining the thanksgiving Mass for the life of Sr. Patricia Mary Bell, former Congregational Leader of the Little Company of Mary Sisters of the Roman Catholic Church.

Sr. Patricia passed on peacefully on 2 May 2026, and we gathered with the LCM Sisters at St Anne’s Hospital, Harare, on 8 May 2026 to celebrate her life of service, compassion and faith.

She touched many lives through her leadership and dedication to caring for others. Her legacy will continue to inspire the work we do at Mashambanzou Care Trust.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Today its Day 3, and we are excited! From 20–24 April, Mashambanzou Care Trust, through the Family Centred Support Project funded by is hosting a transformative 5-day Psychosocial Camp for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) aged 14–19 from Zvimba District, Dzivarasekwa, and Mbare.

Held at the serene Hidden Valley Resort in Bindura, the camp brought together adolescent girls and boys for a life-changing experience focused on guidance and counselling, mental health and self-identity, behaviour management, and career guidance.

The goal was simple but powerful: to equip young people with the emotional strength and knowledge needed to make informed decisions and build a better future. Many of these adolescents face economic hardships, abuse, and barriers to education but this camp reinforces an important message that your past does not define your future.

Through interactive sessions and peer support, participants are encouraged to shift negative mindsets, rediscover their self-worth and remain hopeful despite challenges. The camp serves as a reminder that change is possible when one chooses resilience, positivity and purpose.
