Lady Thanda Far Richardson amplifying the message to the youths that drugs End All Dreams. This was at an event organized by Hard Mashona Arts and Culture Trust and Smart Music (Hard and Smart Koncepts) on Saturday 25 July in Mkoba, Gweru. The event was attended by the business community, philanthropists, the youth, artists and various stakeholders from all walks of life. The event was dubbed "ANTI DRUGS MIC SESSIONS".

Drugs are a menace to society and everyone should play a part in fighting the scourge. In the ZIMBABWE MULTI SECTORAL DRUG AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE PLAN 2024-2030 foreword, the President of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Dr E.D. Mnangagwa says "... drug and substance abuse (DSA) is a growing threat to the nation's health, security, economy and social stability." His Excellency says that the MSDSA plan provides "... strategic direction to the nation's response to the drug and substance abuse challenge and ensures that all communities, families and individuals are FULLY SUPPORTED as the country moves towards Vision 2030 leaving no one and no place behind". As such we have answered his call to ".. redouble our efforts and continue working as a team in the fight against drug and substance abuse."

We call upon everyone particularly the corporate world to support such causes to ensure that we, as a nation can realize our aspirations of a Prosperous and Empowered Upper Middle-Income Society by 2030.

Zimbabwe hip hop rapper, Tinashe Gonzara, popularly known as Ti Gonzi has been sentenced to 10 months in prison!

The 'Kure' hitmaker clashed with the law when he was found in unlawful possession of illegal drugs and substances plus violating traffic regulations recently in Harare. The court however, set aside two months of the sentence on condition of good behavior. For the traffic violations, Gonzara was fined $100. Effectively, the artist will serve 8 months.

Drug and substance abuse offenses have spiralled across the country to a level where the central government has come up with initiatives to curb the effects of the scourge. Youths have been urged to say no to drug and substance abuse.

Zimbabwean sungura musician, Gift Amuli was today picked up by Police at a workshop held by the Zimbabwe Music Rights Association ZIMURA at the Zimbabwe College of Music in Harare and is currently detained at Avondale Police Station, Harare.

The musician is part of the trio of Derick Mpofu and Joseph Garakara who were recently ousted from the Zimbabwe Music Rights Association ZIMURA board. Apparently, Amuli might face charges of cyber bullying against ZIMURA board Vice Chair, First Farai following issues of the alleged disappearance of some chema funds for a musician who passed away some years ago. In the video clip, Derrick Mpofu sets the record straight that Amuli is not being held _incommunicado_ but is detained at Avondale Police Station and they actually had access to him and that he managed to get access to his legal representatives.
