Artists gather in their numbers at Rotten Row Magistrates Court 6 where Sungura musician Gift Amuli is expected to appear and answer to charges emanating from "cyber bullying" against First Farai. Another charge was also preferred, one relating to him publishing Zimbabwe Music Rights Association ZIMURA pay schedules and slips. Led by Derrick Mpofu, the artists are also demanding for an Extraordinary General Meeting, dissolution of the current board as well as a forensic audit of the ZIMURA finances.

Zimbabwe hip hop rapper, Tinashe Gonzara, popularly known as Ti Gonzi has been sentenced to 10 months in prison!

The 'Kure' hitmaker clashed with the law when he was found in unlawful possession of illegal drugs and substances plus violating traffic regulations recently in Harare. The court however, set aside two months of the sentence on condition of good behavior. For the traffic violations, Gonzara was fined $100. Effectively, the artist will serve 8 months.

Drug and substance abuse offenses have spiralled across the country to a level where the central government has come up with initiatives to curb the effects of the scourge. Youths have been urged to say no to drug and substance abuse.

Chief Hwenje, a prominent Zimbabwean musician visited fellow musician, Gift Amuli who is detained at Avondale Police Station. Amuli was arrested yesterday for cyber bullying, charges levelled by First Farai, a fellow Sungura artist.

Zimbabwean sungura musician, Gift Amuli was today picked up by Police at a workshop held by the Zimbabwe Music Rights Association ZIMURA at the Zimbabwe College of Music in Harare and is currently detained at Avondale Police Station, Harare.

The musician is part of the trio of Derick Mpofu and Joseph Garakara who were recently ousted from the Zimbabwe Music Rights Association ZIMURA board. Apparently, Amuli might face charges of cyber bullying against ZIMURA board Vice Chair, First Farai following issues of the alleged disappearance of some chema funds for a musician who passed away some years ago. In the video clip, Derrick Mpofu sets the record straight that Amuli is not being held _incommunicado_ but is detained at Avondale Police Station and they actually had access to him and that he managed to get access to his legal representatives.

*Below is a question paused by a registered music composer trying to get answers relating to the ongoing meeting by artists disgruntled at ZIMURA*

I still dont understand the purpose of the meeting. Is it to take over Zimura and give to musicians (disaster). Is it to form a new 'Zimura'? (Possible but where do clients come from)? Is it to just air grievances? (No idea why without clear paper evidence of money being abused. Are they meeting because of a building that was sold? (Did they not get the explanation? (Also need to understand the constitution.) Are all these people composers or some are musicians who believe they will have a share of spoils? Question then is After all has been done then what? They legally attack Zimura. Zimura rightfully uses artists money to defend themselves. The process is delayed in courts. The artist suffers and suffers.🥲. Some of the suffering isn't it self inflicted? Do you honestly believe musicians can run Zimura? Can they please run a successful union and fight with one voice. If surely you can not get organised to form a grouping how can you be trusted as musicians to handle our money. (Im a composer as well. Registered but I'm not a musician). Are they not inviting wrong people to this meeting? They keep saying musicians. But its not only musicians who are composers and writers. Thats why I dont understand the meaning of the meeting.
