ZIMNAMH under Rights in Action (RiA) project held a workshop in Bulawayo on March 05th and 06th, 2026, in collaboration with FODPZ targeting Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) Directors and Board members to encourage them to embrace the modern governance landscape that demands their responsibilities to extend beyond fiduciary oversight and to encompass active advocacy, both within their organisations and in the broader communities. RiA project aims to see stronger connected OPDs leading the change that they want. By empowering the OPD leadership, the belief was that Directors and Board members are uniquely positioned to amplify the voice of their organisations, influence policy, and engage stakeholders and drive meaningful reforms.

Today, our team successfully hosted a community sensitization meeting at Chinyika Clinic in Goromonzi, bringing together community members to strengthen conversations around mental health and wellbeing.
The session focused on raising awareness about common mental health conditions, recognizing early signs and promoting supportive responses within families and the wider community. Through individual talk therapy sessions, we provided immediate psychosocial support to those in need, offering a safe and compassionate space to be herd.
By taking these conversations directly into communities, we are breaking stigma, restoring hope, and ensuring that help is accessible to all.
