Shamwari Foundation Communication No 2 of 2025

To All Shamwari Foundation Members,

This letter serves to formally announce the appointment of the following individuals to their respective positions within the Shamwari Foundation, effective January 13, 2025:


Chairman: Tapiwanashe Nyakabau (replacing Sylvester Chandalala, Acting Chairman 2024)
Treasurer: Hannah Chamisa (replacing Natasha, Acting Treasurer 2024)
Vice Chair: Munashe Chinyowa
Secretary: Sharon Chivende

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Sylvester Chandalala and Ms. Natasha for their dedicated service as Acting Chairman and Acting Treasurer throughout 2024. Their contributions to the Foundation are greatly appreciated.
We are confident that this new leadership team will effectively guide the Shamwari Foundation in its mission to address the needs and problems of the less privileged. We encourage all members to offer their full support and cooperation to the newly appointed.

Dear Shamwari Foundation Board of Directors and Members,

As we step into the new year, let's recommit to supporting the crucial endeavors of the Shamwari Foundation. Together, we have the power to effect enduring change in the lives of numerous individuals and communities. Attached is the proposed program for 2025.

**Campaign Overview:**
The Shamwari Foundation is initiating the "Pad Up the Rural Community Campaign" under the overarching theme: "Supporting the Girl Child for a Brighter Tomorrow." This campaign is dedicated to tackling the significant issue of menstrual hygiene management (MHM) among adolescent girls in rural areas.

**Problem Statement:**
Numerous girls in rural regions face challenges accessing affordable and hygienic sanitary products, resulting in:
- School absenteeism: Girls often miss school during menstruation due to a lack of sanitary pads, impacting their education.
- Health risks: Unsanitary practices during periods heighten the risk of infections and diseases.
- Stigma and discrimination: Menstruation is often surrounded by taboo and misinformation, leading to social stigma and discrimination against girls.

**Campaign Goals:**
- Enhance access to affordable and hygienic sanitary pads: Distribute pads and offer guidance on menstrual hygiene.
- Promote menstrual health education: Conduct workshops and awareness programs on menstrual hygiene, reproductive health, and body positivity.
- Empower girls: Boost confidence and self-esteem among adolescent girls by openly addressing menstrual health concerns.
- Advocate for policy change: Lobby for government assistance and policy reforms to enhance MHM access in rural areas.

Let's make 2025 our most impactful year to date! We eagerly await your feedback. If you have suggestions on individuals or locations we should visit, please reach out. Our aim this year is to donate 1000 pads. Stay tuned for our upcoming events calendar!
