NAWT interns at Clean Marondera being taught how to make bricks from cardboard boxes, sticky sand and a bit of cement. These bricks can be used for paving and even building houses. Such skills complement NAWT's low cost development approach which advocates for the utilization of the little available resources for sustainable and effective change in communities especially rural communities.

Each school that is being fed received their food consignments well ahead of the program. Pots, cooking spoons, beans , mealie meal, cooking oil, salt , bins, dishwashing liquids etc as well as a banner for publicity.

The learners looked excited as proven by a group of learners at Nyamandlovu Primary School who posed for a picture whilst waiting to be served their meal.

NAWT interns having a cooking lesson on traditional vegetables like amaranths (mova), blackjack (mutsine), lamb squatter (murota rota), black shade (musungusungu), dandelion (dzvengetsvenge), spider plant (nyevhe), galant soldier (teketera) making sandwiches and herbal tea made from wild basil, zumbani, mango leaves and avocado leaves. These lessons fall under the low cost development approach that has been utilised by NAWT from inception in 2005. This approach encourages people to use the little available resources- Utilization of low hanging fruits.

NAWT was graced by the presence of 2 Australians (Professor Geoff Webb & Richard Webb), Senator Sekai Holland founder of ZimPI, ex-combatants led by Cde Bruise Makotore founder of the Spirit of Kunno Krossa and other distinguished guests. The event had stakeholders from different disciplines sharing ideas on how to preserve Afrikanness in terms of food, tradition etc.
The meeting started at NAWT's head office and proceeded to Waddilove High school for further deliberations.

NAWT visited Kukura Neshungu Institute in Marondera to spend time with the learners there and donated a box of apples. The institute is training the learners various skills like making dish washer and toilet cleaner liquids, door mats and slippers among others so that they can have self sustenance even after they graduate from the institute.

As a response to the declaration of a state of disaster emanating from the drought situation by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Nawt sourced for funds from its partners Seniors without Borders under the Danish Emergency Relief Fund to assist the most vulnerable in providing meals ensuring timely intervention during the drought period. We are currently feeding 1517 learners from 6 primary schools in Umguza district Matabeleland Province.
