Theme: Trapped Behind the Scam 🌐

Trafficking rarely starts with force. It starts with a promise — of a good job, steady income and a better future.Today, fake job ads and “high-paying jobs overseas” are used to lure people into scam compounds and forced labor. Children and young people are especially targeted online with false hope.

❌ Recruiters holding your passport, ID, or certificates
❌ No real address or company details
❌ Pressure to leave NOW + “don’t tell family”
❌ Job offers aimed at youth with no qualifications needed

Today, we join children across Zimbabwe and the continent in commemorating the Day of the African Child 2026 under the theme: "Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa

At Abdullah Dzinamarira Foundation we didnt wait for this day to take action.True sustainability means building foundation early.

Reflecting on our impactful project completed last year, we are incredibly proud to have drilled and installed a borehole at Blue Grass Secondary with support from Health Justice Network.

On June 3 2026 we successfully conducted our Menstrual Hygiene Awareness and Pads Distribution program at Salvation Army High School under the Theme My Period, My Pride.

During the session, girls highlighted the heartbreaking challenges young girls face during their periods. Due to the high cost of sanitary products many are forced to resort to unsafe alternatives. As one participant shared: _“When we can’t afford to purchase sanitary pads, we use pieces of cloth from old clothes.”_

Seeing the smiles and pure relief on the faces of these girls as they received their sanitary pads was incredibly moving. Access to period products shouldn’t be a luxury — it is a basic right.

As members of Education Coalition of Zimbabwe we were honored to participate in the Annual General Meeting

The AGM was a valuable platform to reflect on the collective efforts in advancing quality, inclusive education in Zimbabwe, in line with SDG 4. It was inspiring to engage with fellow members and partners committed to strengthening education systems and promoting equal opportunities for all learners.

We also appreciate the strong emphasis on sustainability, collaboration and innovative approaches to ensure lasting impact in our communities.

Together we shall remain committed to driving positive change for a more inclusive and sustainable future

Happy World Social Workers Day

At Abdullah Dzinamarira Foundation our mission is to share hope and empower communities. We believe every person deserves a chance to thrive and it is the dedication of our incredible Social Workers that makes this possible.

This year’s theme, “Co-Building Hope and Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society,” reminds us of the powerful role Social Workers play in strengthening unity, resilience, and inclusion in our communities.

Through their compassion, guidance and commitment we are able to reach those in need and bring hope where it matters most.

Today we celebrate and appreciate all Social Workers for their tireless service and dedication.

ADF conducted an interactive Comprehensive Sexuality Education session at Salvation Army, focusing on STIs awareness. Learners shared their thoughts, fears, and experiences, addressing misconceptions about yeast infections and STIs.

"It’s difficult to tell parents you have a yeast infection. You’ll be beaten because they think you’re sexually active," shared one participant.

Through dialogue and visual learning, learners gained a deeper understanding of STIs, prevention, early treatment, and seeking help from youth-friendly clinics. ADF emphasized abstinence as a key prevention strategy, encouraging young people to make informed decisions about their health.

The session highlights the need for community education on STIs to prevent misconceptions and stigma. Let's promote accurate information + safe spaces = empowered young people

Charity begins at Home! ADF recently conducted an engaging session with ECD children at Little Stars, focusing on child abuse prevention and reporting channels. Our little ones learned the importance of body safety, boundaries, and speaking up through fun songs like 'Don't Touch' and interactive activities. We're dedicated to empowering children with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves. It’s never too early to start the Conversation. We're committed to safeguarding our future generation.

Comprehensive Sexual Education is one of ADF's core thematic areas. Yesterday we took a huge step at Salvation Army High School holding an interactive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) session that included the boy child in menstrual health education promoting positive masculinity , where young people openly discussed adolescence, body changes,and menstrual health — together.
🗣️ “I never knew boys could be involved in menstrual health discussions. Talking about periods with boys is usually taboo,” shared one learner. Through honest conversations myths were challenged and positive masculinity was encouraged. One powerful moment stood out when a boy volunteered during a sanitary pad demonstration. 🗣️ “I want to support my sisters and friends,” he said earning nods and smiles from his peers. This is why SRHR education matters. It builds knowledge, breaks stigma, nurtures respect, empathy and shared responsibility for health and wellbeing.
