The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) Zimbabwe, in collaboration with the National AIDS Council, made a powerful impact at the prestigious Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), a six-day showcase of innovation and community engagement.

Positioned at the heart of the exhibition, AHF Zimbabwe’s stand became a vibrant hub of health services and awareness, drawing in hundreds of visitors eager to learn, engage, and take charge of their well-being. The team delivered a comprehensive package of services, including free HIV testing, condom education and distribution, and expert screening and management of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

In addition, visitors were empowered with access to life-saving prevention tools such as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP), reinforcing AHF Zimbabwe’s commitment to cutting-edge, accessible healthcare solutions.

Through this dynamic participation, AHF Zimbabwe not only provided critical services but also strengthened community awareness, reduced stigma, and inspired positive health-seeking behaviors. The organization continues to lead from the front in the fight against HIV.

⚠️ The final negotiations for the WHO Pandemic Agreement are here—and the stakes couldn’t be higher.
The PABS Annex will determine whether countries that share pathogen data actually receive fair access to vaccines, diagnostics, and treatments.
AHF is urging WHO Member States to:
✔️ Commit to binding equity—no agreement without it
✔️ Guarantee benefit-sharing obligations in advance
✔️ Lock in standardized, enforceable contract obligations
✔️ Require transparency and traceability for users and data
✔️ Reject dual-track system proposals that circumvent obligations
✔️ Ensure intellectual property serves public health—not industry monopolies
This is the moment to choose equity over extraction.

Civil society organizations have intensified pressure on global health authorities over the proposed Pandemic Agreement Benefit Sharing (PABS) Annex, warning that failure to address key concerns could result in an unjust global framework. Yesterday, 21 April 2026 AHF Zimbabwe held a press conference in which journalists were updated regarding the Pandemic Agreement with special focus on AHF’s position regarding the PABS Annex which include:
1. No Equity, No Agreement
2. Mandatory Benefit-Sharing During PHEICs and Interpandemic Periods
3. Standardized Contracts with Essential Terms Negotiated by Countries
4. No Registration, No Access
5. Reject the Hybrid/Two-Track System

🌍 The world is at a turning point for preparedness against pandemics and other public health emergencies.
The WHO Pandemic Agreement can’t move forward without a finalized Pathogen Access and Benefit-Sharing (PABS) Annex—and negotiations at the April 27–May 1 session in Geneva are the last chance to get it right.
AHF is calling on WHO Member States to deliver a strong, binding agreement that ensures:
- Mandatory benefit-sharing across pandemics, PHEICs, and interpandemic periods
- Standardized, enforceable contracts
- Require user registration and traceability for all who access pathogen data
- No loopholes through “dual-track” systems that sidestep obligations
- Public health—not profit—guiding intellectual property rules
Without these protections, the world risks repeating the failures of .
